Today is day 21 of Blogtober 2026 and as it is Wednesday I have gone off topic to bring you my weekly Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 21/10/2026.

My Week

Health

We stil have that lurgy hanging around, we are nowhere near as ill as we have been. It is just the lingering of it, but know a few people who have had it for weekls.

I have also been trying to speak to someone regarding my dads health. As he is now losing weight and struggling with eating. This however, is because he has not been doing his exercises and trying to improve things. I did lose it with him the other day and hit with some low blows. But I am having to deal with him and my mum and just get no break and it is wearing me down.

Evenings Out

I never go out, so havng three nights out on the trot last week was unheard of for me. On Thursday I met up with my oldest friend and also took my mum to play bingo at her local pub – we did not win. Then Friday, I met up with the mums from C’s primary school for a catch up and meal out. Then Saturday, as my dad no longer dries and my mum can not drive at night due to her eyes. I went with them to a quiz night at their bowls club – we came third so not too bad.

Birthdays

November is a busy month for me with birthdays. I have C’s and then one of my grandaughters 2 days later at the start of November. Then my eldest grandaughter towards the end and my daughter in law has a partner and has a daughter who has a birthday at the end of November. So 4 birthdays before I start with Christmas.

Life In A Week Of Biscuit

Biscuit is not here today, as he has gone to his doggy day care again. His best friend is there and they even had the same coats on. They do themed dressing up and are doing their Halloween fancy dress with the dogs. I could not let Biscuit miss out so I got him a little pumpkin costume and sent it with him. They somehow got it on him and got him to sit and pose. How cute does he look?

Wednesday – There was a noise that woke me up this morning. Apparently my mum had set an alarm whatever that is. We got up early and I was very confused as she put my harness on and we went out in the car – that early. We arrived somewhere and just sat there until a lady came to say hello to me. I was very happy and then she took me from my mum and put me in her car – what is going on. I was taken to a place with lots of other dogs and then I saw him. Cosmo my sosij friend and I was so happy. I made lots and lots of friends and played lots but got a very tired sosij. I was so excited when I say my mum again.
Thursday – We went somewhere else for our walk today it was very windy. Then my mums friend came and I was so happy to see her. We then went in our car to somewhere else and went to a cafe while mums car had something called an mot (don’t ask me not a clue but nothing to do with treats for me). Guess what there was another sosij in the cafe who was very friendly.
Friday – We had a chilled quiet day. Mum went out in the evening and left me with grandma and grandad. Now I thought I was being entertaining but I do not think that they agreed as grandma told mum I was a little sod. That could mean good and cute though.
Saturday – We had a nice man come and look at our garage roof. Of course being a sosij I had to protect my mum and kept sneaking out with her when she went to talk to him.
Sunday – I have to tell you all how big and brave I was. It happened at night time when my mum took me outside. The wet stuff was coming out the sky, I waited and then ran inside as quickly as I could. Then mum got hold of me and her shelter thing she holds in her had to keep us dry and we went back out and I stayed there.
Monday – Mum went and left me again and I was so excited to see her when she came home. Honestly she was gone for 3 months even though she says it was just over an hour. I am now not letting her out of my sight for the rest of the day now in case she leaves me again
Tuesday – There is wet stuff outside again, my mum put a coat on me and I still legged it to the back door. She out smarted this sosij as she shut the back door. and just kept picking me up and putting me back to do what a little sosij has to do. Then she put this ridiculous thing on me, which is meant to keep me warm and dry, it is too big so has to go back (phew I got away with that one). Then another ring of the doorbell. This pumpkin dress up came out of the bag. Apparently it is so I can take part in a fancy dress competition at day care. I did not co-operate the tag was fun and tasty though. Then I was made to go out for a walk in the wet, I do not like being a soggy sosij and I made my mum feel very guilty until she decided we could go home.
