Blogtober Day 6 – My Boys

Blogtober Day 6 - My Boys

It is the 6th October already, and keeping up with the blogtober challenge. Today my prompt is Blogtober Day 6 – My Boys.

In other words my fur babies. I often talk about my dogs so thought I would introduce them to you properly. I have two dogs Max an Alaskan Malamute and Bear a German Shepherd.

Max

Max is not a typical Mal, they are supposed to be clever.  If you throw a ball they will retrieve it once or twice and then think, if you throw it you can get it yourself.  They are supposed to be destructive and leave your garden like the moons crater.  They are supposed to howl.

Max is very clever and very cheeky, just look at that face.  He loves playing ball and is always wanting to play he loves throwing it back to me.  Give him a new toy and it is in pieces in minutes and is always getting into some sort of mischief.

He does not howl but loves a good argument, you can honestly have a conversation with him.

You can not let them off lead when taking them out, so he has to be attached to us on a long lead.  This can be a disaster if he spots a squirrel, as I found out when I was not keeping an eye on what he was up to and face planted a tree.

He is a huge softy, loves a cuddle and adores C, he is often found on her bed for a cuddle or in her room.

He is 8 years old now and we got him as a rescue when he was 10 months old, after losing our Samoyed who was an old man and we missed him terribly.  Max was just what we needed, he fitted in to our mad house perfectly.

Bear

Our whirlwind, this dog is the funniest dog I have known.  He is C’s dog.  She came with us to choose him.  When we got to the breeders, we met mum and dad and there was just Bear and his brother left.  Bear came straight to us, while his brother said hello but was not too fussed.  The breeder said Bear has not done this before, he usually does not go near anyone.  So it was inevitable he came home with us.

He has just had an operation, hence the picture with the cone.  I have never been so battered and bruised in my life, he kept forgetting how wide it was and crashed into everything. Thankfully it is removed now and all back to normal.

He adores Max and they get on so well together, apart from when Bear goes into his spoilt child act and he has to have everything all the balls, bones etc either under him or between his legs.  It is so funny to watch.

Bear is also very nosy, he is like that nosy neighbour who sits behind net curtains watching what is going on.  He is up and down stairs all the time looking out the back or the front.

He adores C, and is always the first there if she comes downstairs and he walks beside her.  If she is in bed he is always popping in to say hello.

We got Bear quite quickly after losing Bertie our English Mastiff, as Max was pining and broken hearted.

Do you have any fur babies?
