Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 09/09/2026

It is somehow Wednesday again and another week has flown by quickly. Which means it is time for my Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 09/09/2026.

My Week

This Week

We have had such a mixed week, with so much going on

Health

Poor C has picked up a bug and not feeling great.

Dad had an appointment on Friday with the speech therapy and dietician team. They were happy with his progress and also happy to pass him back to the hospital.

You may remember, just before my husbands funeral I fell down my stairs and broke my toe. I have been in a lot of pain with it since, and ended up at the Drs as it does not feel right. Today I have a scan on my toe. Not sure what I want from this really but will keep you all posted.

Night Out

On Saturday one of my husbands old friends had a milestone birthday party. I nearly chickened out of going so many times, and during the day my anxiety was through the roof. I went with C, stopping to pick up our close friends first. I did have a few moments as we have been to parties in this venue so many times and I kept remembering my husband there. He should have been there

It was a huge deal my first proper party and also a couples thing. But I got through it and did have a lovely time. Spoke to some of his friends as well and they all remembered him by having a shot.

New Chapters

On Saturday, C is moving to university. I am so proud of her and excited for her, especially after her illnesses. But omg I am not ready for her to leave home. This transition would have been easier had my husband been here. Although she is home the following weekend, for an event here.

A Week In The Life Of Biscuit

Biscuit -13 weeks

Poor Biscuit has been poorly this week. Last Wednesday, we ended up at the vets with him, he did have an appointment for a vaccination later in the day which we changed. He had a bad stomach, sickness and shaking. He had a temperature, and was given two injections that you would have thought was murdering him.

We came away with antibiotics and probiotics and told to rest him for a week and no walks.

  • Wednesday – I felt very sorry for myself today. I did not feel well and got lots of cuddles. My humans took me to a place called the vets, I like going here as I get a lot of fuss. I did not like them sticking things in me for hours and I cried and jumped into my mums arms
  • Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday – I was getting back to my normal cute self. I did sleep a lot more though and had little burst of energy. Not impressed with my food rice and chicken every meal
  • Monday – I am feeling so much better, and back to having fun. My humans went out and left me with grandad. He went to sleep and I managed to get the whole run of the downstairs and found all sorts to play with
  • Tuesday – There was wet stuff falling from the sky, what is that all about? I did not like it and had my human stand outside with me in the rain while she forced me to do a wee before coming back in. I was shivering it was torture, I ran back in doors quickly when she said good boy. Then I had to keep going out and the wet stuff was still coming from the sky
  • Update today – we had vets this morning another needle was stuck in me but I had treats this time and I can go back out on walks after today

  10. Pitching our tent at the side of our campervan without any stress or mishaps! Makes a change. We now have extra living space, especially for eating and reading.

  11. Sat in a restaurant near a couple from Canberra where our son works as a chef and they were impressed by where he works.

    1. It was tough but glad I did go as we did have a lovely time. Just two more nights and then she will be gone :(. Biscuit is back to normal and creating havoc again

  15. Good luck to C at university! She will have an amazing time! You will find the terms actually go really quickly and before you know it she will be home with all her washing for the holidays! I hated it initially when my youngest son started as the house was so quiet with just me, but you do get used to it, and it is great to see how they mature and grow.
