At this time of year I always get the bug, where I want to change things around the home. I think it is due to the school holidays ending and everything back to normal in a few weeks. So it is Time For A Change.
At the weekend as I was sitting chatting to my husband, I utter the words, I think it is time for a change. He knows me well and just had that look come across his face as to what plans I had now.
My poor Daughter has had the same bedroom for about 5-6 years now, and since she became ill nothing has really been done in there. She is going to be 16 in a few months and I think it is time for a make over.
When we decorated it the last time it was painted in green, her favourite colour and I have never liked it but she loved it. But feel it is time for a complete make over and the transition over to an older girls bedroom. I have spoken to C about it and as she spends most of her time in her bedroom I want her to be happy with it.
Trying to talk to her about colours is a nightmare, I just get I don’t know or a shrug of the shoulders. I have a few ideas of colour schemes and what I want to do in her room, which will also give her a bit more space. It should not take too long once we start as it is not a huge room, the main thing will be a new carpet as hers desperately needs changing. Then I will be able to get on with the bits I love finding new curtains, bedding and all the nice finishing touches.
Luckily we can move her into the spare bedroom while we are doing this, so it should not affect her too much and she can still rest up.
Although our studio is an office, it is also a photographic studio, plus where my husband plays his guitars and also where I store items as well. So it has many uses. But it really needs a bit of structure, which I also need.
I am lucky that I can work from any room in the house, as I do need to be around for C a lot of the time. Which is fine but I need one place where I can keep my planner, and items I am reviewing, plus everything else that I need.
I often have things in various rooms, plus the studio and can spend ages trying to remember exactly where I had put something.
My husband also uses the studio as an office, so has his work pieces there as well. We have both been saying for a long time, we need to sort this out properly.
We have spent the weekend looking at luxury office furniture trying to find something we both like, plus storage solutions. This way I can still work indoors and just need my laptop and planner. Everything else can be left in the office. I can also escape into the office and work when I have deadlines, or just need time work with no interruptions.
That is my two main projects for the coming months, I do have other ideas but thought it best to keep quiet on those for now.
