Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 58

It is Tuesday again, which as you know by now is my linky post for Life In A Lockdown.  You may have noticed that I did not post last week as for various reaons we decided to take a week off.

Have you managed to get out and start enjoying freedom, or are you still staying safe and just going out if you need to? I seem to have been busy, but not done much you can find out below.

If you want to take part in the linky the questions are

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Frustrated at the fact we have still not received C’s draft EHCP for us to view and amend or agree.  This means that trying to find a course/college for September is becoming increasingly difficult and we can not move forward without the EHCP in place.  On a good note though C has chosen a course she is interested in which is a food course.  This totally surprised us but I think it is because she enjoys her art and it relaxes and focuses her, where as if she had to do it daily she may lose her love of it.

I am still struggling with my tooth, I saw my dentist last week and she gave me a new type of antibiotic to try, with strict instructions not to drink any alcohol.  They made me so ill and even if I liked a drink daily there was no way I would have considered it.  I took myself off them in the end as I felt so ill.  I am trying to see if I can get anything else at the moment.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

I have enjoyed meeting up with friends and having a long awaited catch up.  Please we had a lovely Sunday lunch out yesterday which we really enjoyed.

We have been getting bits for the garden and hoping we can set up our fire pit soon and enjoy some toasted marshmallows and keeping warm

3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I think it has to be my Diary of a Menopausal Mum post, the feed back I am getting from bringing this series back has been amazing.  Plus it is great to share the funny side of it .

4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?

We do have a few meetings arranged with family and friends, and a week away in June going around the Lakes with friends as he is doing a cycle ride and we are going for support

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)

We had a trip to The Range yesterday, I love that shop and could spend a fortune.  We got some lovely lights for the garden which we have been wanting to get for a while

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

A lovely Sunday lunch out with friends in the sun shine

7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?

Never take life for granted, be grateful for the little things

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Keep on going, take one day at a time and we will get through this

Thank you to

It feels so nice to finally be able to meet up with friends! If only the weather was a bit warmer, it’s just been all rain here for the last week.

It is great to be able to get back out again, the weather has been awful but somehow on Sunday it was sunshine or at least while we were out

My friend just messaged saying she has her next vaccine booked and I was a week or so behind her, so hoping mine will be soon. It will be nice when we can return to seeing friends and family properly again

I’m doing half and half, enjoying freedom whilst being careful! Starting back at work next week in person and not online is a bit daunting! Lovely to read and catch up with your musings x

I think it is all about balance and what you are feeling comfortable with, it has been a very strange year and we all need to approach the next few months the way we feel comfortable with

It is frustrating that Caitlin’s draft EHCP hasn’t arrived yet. Hopefully it arrives soon for you. We also popped to The Range yesterday, I love it there and end up buying loads.

I am getting really stressed about the EHCP again and keep hovering around and pouncing when the postman comes, just so we can move forward. Our local one is a nightmare to get to, so we dont go often but I do love it there

The past week had me busy with housework. Since we cannot go anywhere, I am trying some DIY projects like repainting old clay pots and repairing an old wooden bench. I am browsing around for a good impact drill and grinder too.

Sounds like you have been busy, we lived in B&Q this past year with doing our bedroom and bathroom if I had taken interest I would probably be able to tell you about a good drill or grinder lol

Those antibiotics can be a bit hit and miss. Sorry to hear they made you feel that bad you had to stop them. Hope they found you a suitable alternative.

These were awful, I have spoken to my dentist today and said could I try to retake them, there is no way I can felt so sick. I have an appointment on Friday morning to see if they can do anything

Your week away in June sounds lovely, I hope you have good weather for it. I can’t imagine how annoying it must be not having C’s EHCP so you can start thinking about her education more x

I cannot imagine how frustrating it is waiting for the EHCP I hope that it gets sorted soon. I have the worst luck with antibiotics they always make me feel poorly.
