Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 27/11/2024

We have raced through another week to Wednesday again. I seem to be busier and busier these days and sometimes the days seem to merge into one when I look back at the week. This does however, mean it is time for my weekly round up post Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 27/11/2024.

Today is the day C goes for her 24 hour heart monitor. She is feeling ok about it and it means we can move forward to speaking to a Cardiologist. It has also turned out to be a family outing.

You may remember my Dad was in hospital a short while ago and is now under Cardiology. He has an appointment for tomorrow. We did not realise it was for a heart monitor also, until they rang to confirm his appointment yesterday. We explained, that C was there today and they have rearranged his appointment so he is the appointment following her.

Budgies

Pinky

Pinky was 2 weeks old yesterday. I know a lot of you have seen the daily updates on my Instagram – you can find me by searching @stressedmum1.

C holds him/her daily now and I have even been brave enough to hold Pinky. As you can see not so pink anymore and under feathers are coming through. Plus its little stubby tail.

We had a fright this morning, C is in college for one lesson. I sit and wait in the car park working from the car. We got home and Pippy was out of the box, C went to look at Pinky and they were not there. Poor Pinky had fallen out of the box and was in the corner on the opposite side. C picked up Pinky who went straight into her sleeve. Loves going exploring up there. As soon as Pinky saw mum started chirping away and was soon happy and fed. I think we are going to have a lot of fun with Pinky. Just waiting to see what colour feathers are going to grow.

Today

7 years ago today, I became a Nanny it is hard to believe that my eldest granddaughter is 7 today. I sent her a message before school, plus watched videos of her opening up her presents and had tears in my eyes. I know I I am biased but she really is such an amazing little girl.

Also what was happening with the weather today, the floods everywhere and the traffic I have honestly never seen traffic like it before.

I hope you have all had a great week

  1. Your Christmas guides are so helpful for planning an eventful Christmas my family can enjoy. The advent calenders are my favorite and I have been picking up a few for us.

  2. Same! I sat by the window, smiling as my two budgies filled the quiet room with their cheerful chatter. Sunny, the yellow one, kept tossing seeds to the floor, watching as Kiwi, the green one, darted around in a flurry to collect them. When I laughed, Sunny turned to me with a smug little tilt of his head, as if to say, “You’re lucky to be part of our chaos.”

  3. It has been crazy busy for sure these past few weeks and hard to keep up, especially with personal issues popping up that take me away from my work. It is always an ongoing process for me….trying to stay caught up LOL. I am glad everything is OK for C and that you were able to merge the two appointments so that both got their monitors the same day. I had to wear one for a month….. but it was nothing as my Graves Disease acted back up and can make the heart go crazy…. like 180 beats a minute. Once I got back on my meds for it…(it was in remission for over a decade)….. my screenings came out good. Thanks goodness because it seemed so weird to have the monitor on every day all day long for 30 days LOL……

    1. It has been crazy lately, I honestly have no idea where all the hours go.We are just waiting for the results now, her heart rates does go up above 180 so there is something wrong. I don’t think she would like having it on for a month though

  4. Oh my goodness, although I am petrified of birds, pinky is the cutest little thing I have ever seen!

  5. It is nice they were able to make their appointments back to back. The baby birds are so cute & it sounds like you have some great Giveaways up

  6. I’m so in love with Pinky! She has such a huge spirit in that tiny little body. I think she’ll be a blast when she’s grown.

    1. Was chatting to C this morning that it seems weird to say Pinky now. Looking today there are more blue feathers starting to appear. This one is fearless I am checking on it every 10 minutes to make sure Pinky has not falled out of the nesting box again

  7. First of all, I’m glad to hear C is finally getting her monitor. Heart stuff is scary. My GF had issues, and it turned out she had a heart block. She has a pacemaker now. Second, I am definitely hitting up your IG. I’m a BIG Pinky fan.

    1. It is one step forward for C and her heart racing. We think we know what it is even her ME Consultant said straight away it is POTS. So now need to wait for results to come through once we have handed the monitor back this afternoon. Pinky is getting more blue feathers now and so cheeky

    1. Pinky is such a cutie, I am always checking to see he/she is ok. We now know Pinky is going to be blue and more blue has appeared this morning. Looks paler than mum is though

  8. omg pinky is the most adorable thing I’ve ever seen, he/she is sooooo cute so cute….I can’t wait to watch him grow his feathers. So cute.

  9. I suspect some higher power has tricked us all and reduced the number of hours in a day and not actually let us know LOL! I’m just not getting through everything any more.

Love seeing pics of Pinky on Insta and also loved your replies to my comments, especially the one in which mum put her foot on him/her to stop his/her adventures. No wonder you got a fright to find him out of the box. Pleased all is well now.

Hoping the cardio tests go well.

    1. I am glad it is not just me, I seem to be rushing about doing various things and not getting as much done as I should be.

Pinky although we need to change the name as less pink now, is always keeping us on our toes. C is in college this morning, I keep having to check Pinky is still in the box. literally just checked now but is asleep in the corner. That was funny Pippy takes no messing about and will stop Pinky messing about. I did get a video of Pinky in C’s sleeve yesterday and Mum was on me and I put her down and she was feeding Pinks. I will update it in a bit
