Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 3

Life In A Lockdown

Welcome back to my Life In A Lockdown Linky, we have reached week 3.  Following the announcement last week it looks like there will be a few more of these linky posts.  I hope you are enjoying them, and realise we are all in this together.  In case you missed last weeks post you can find it here.

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Last week I struggled quite a bit.  I had a total meltdown last Wednesday even I was shocked after.  It was my birthday on Thursday and I was feeling sorry for myself as we had planned a while ago what we would be doing for my birthday.

Plus last night my front tooth broke, great timing.  I spoke to my Dentist this morning and they can not do anything until this is over and suggested going to the chemist to get some tooth repair until I can get treatment.  Our local chemists had nothing so have ordered some from Amazon to arrive within a week.  At least being in lockdown means I can not go out and see people.

2) What are you doing to keep yourself occupied?

Pretty much the same as last week, housework and chatting to friends virtually online.  Plus I have a lot of posts as have been trying to give to others and have a lot of giveaways gone live with a few more still to go live.  I am also trying to work on the backend of my blog a well.

3) How are you dealing with everything at the moment – are you self-isolated, going out for essentials etc? Has this changed?

We are still isolating and I have only been out to Lidl for our weekly shop and walked down to the garage for milk when we needed it.  Apart from that we have all been home.  It is too risky to go out and raise the chance of bringing the virus into our home with my Daughter being ill.

4) What advice do you have for others?

I said it last week, and will continue to say it, Keep isolated stay home, stay away from family and friends who do not live in your house, stay safe. We all want to get back to normality but if you continue to meet up you are just prolonging the lockdown for us all.

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

I was recently added to a lovely group for Gifting and Uplifting women in the UK.  Where you share your wish list and about yourself and engage with others.  You can choose to gift items from their wish list to give them a lift when they need it and show that you care.  I have sent a few and it made me feel good.

6) How has your routine been this week? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

My routine has been pretty much the same, nothing really changed perhaps this is now my new normal.

7) Have you planned anything for once lockdown is over in the past 7 days?? (Question by Don’t Cramp My Style)

Yes I am having two birthdays this year, one last week and another where I go out with friends and celebrate.  Plus a trip out with my husband for a shopping spree and a new handbag

How has your week been?

I hope your tooth is not causing you too much pain. I think we need to be kind to ourselves in times like his and allow the odd meltdown!

It is causing more pain due to the sharp edges rubbing my mouth, have some gel coming today to hopefully sort that. I am usually the strong one who carries on but this just came from nowhere

Oh no, it’s so horrible to hear about your tooth and what a shame that the dentist cannot do anything until this is all over! I hope ti’s not causing you too much pain. I also have a birthday coming up and I’m feeling quite sorry for myself because I can’t do what we had planned either. We’ll actually, my other half had a surprised planned but it has all had to be cancelled!

My tooth is not too bad but my mouth and gum are sore due to the sharp edges. I feel for you regarding your birthday, but you can be the same as me and be like the queen and have two birthdays 🙂 We have postponed my birthday celebrations for when this is over

  • Sorry to hear that you’ve broken your tooth, I hope that it isn’t causing you any pain. I knew that dentists had cancelled all regular appointments but hadn’t thought about emergencies.

The tooth itself is ok pain wise it is my mouth getting sore from the sharp edges but have just had some amazing mouth gel delivered which is helping. Apparently they are unable to drill for some health reason so it is just keep going best you can x

aye two birthdays like the queen 🙂

The tooth repair is coming Monday, everywhere is sold out so must be common at the moment, but I have had an amazing mouth gel delivered today. Yes definitely like the queen 🙂

Sorry to hear you’ve been struggling a bit – it’s completely understandable, as this is such a surreal experience. I go through most of the day feeling like this is some kind of movie and not real life! I hope you have a good week next week 🙂

I have been ok as this is normality for us mostly anyway but it just got a little too much this week x

I’m sorry you had to spend your birthday during lockdown. My mother’s 60th birthday was two weeks ago and she had a big family get-together planned

It is not fun, I thought I would be ok but it really got to me, I hope your Mum had a nice day and plans for a celebration after lockdown x

Thanks for linking up again! What a nightmare that your tooth broke, it is crazy that dentists haven’t got the right protective equipment at the moment so cannot see patients.

I am loving the linky, it is a shame but there must be a lot of people out there suffering the same as I found it a nightmare to get hold of the protection stuff my dentist advised on.

So much is been put on hold, I am dreading anything tooth related. I hope that what you have ordered from Amazon helps and can sort you out until all of this is over.

I have been dreading anything tooth related, mainly for C never thought of me. I hope it does as well when it finally gets here x

Sorry to hear about your tooth. My teeth are a little sore at the moment and I was due my check-up but it’s been cancelled – understandably, although it is quite worrying not knowing how long this could go on for.

I hope your teeth don;t get too bad, I have found some amazing gel on Amazon that numbs the whole area that the sharp edges are causing to be really sore x

  • My mummy supported a small business off instagram this week and ordered some clothes -they were so beautiful and comfy – perfect loungewear for the lockdown! She’s being more mindful where her money goes this month x

That is great to hear, I am going to support small businesses when I next purchase they need the support x

The last thing you need in the midst of a global lockdown is a broken tooth. My teeth look like Bill Murray sent a ten pin bowling ball at them and now just needs a miracle ball for the half strike. I say that as I can somewhat understand. God speed.

I am so sorry you are struggling as well but it seems a few people are suffering the same x

Hope you are doing okay, it’s a really tough time and I can completely relate to the meltdown. I’ve been chatting to a lot of my friends online too and it’s really helped; it’s difficult being alone most of the time.

    admin 1 month ago Reply

I think we have all had a meltdown at some point, or feeling one coming on. I am lucky to have my family here but being alone must be so hard. Thankfully there is social media to help x

So sorry about the tooth. I lost half a filling recently and had to order tooth repair stuff from Amazon. You can get dental appointments here but you have to go to the dental dept at our local big hospital which is an hour away and full of Covid wards so I am riding it out. Not fun but what can we do.
Hopefully you can re celebrate your birthday when things have eased? I think feeling sorry for ourselves is all part of processing this, I have had a few proper moments too!

    admin 1 month ago Reply

Oh no sorry you are suffering a broken tooth as well, my repair kit arrived today and looks awful but the sharp edges have gone so can live with it, especially as not going out. I don’t blame you for staying away from the hospitals I have been as well. I will be celebrating once this is over

  • Jenni Grainger 1 month ago Reply

I hope your tooth isn’t giving you too many problems. Happy birthday! I’m sure you can do something amazing once lockdown has finished. I am close to a breakdown at the moment

We had my son’s birthday this week and I felt really sorry for him, even though he took it all in his stride. It is natural to have a wobble, I know I have

    admin 1 month ago Reply

I am glad he had a good birthday even in lockdown, I think we all have a moment of a wobble over something we can’t control x

I hear you on the staying in. I also love how you have already decided to have x2 birthdays…go you xx

It has to be done, we had a few things planned to celebrate it so just postponed it x

Wow, I love the idea of gifting and uplifting! It must feel so good to send gifts to others to lighten their spirits. We could all use that right now. I’m so sorry about your tooth! I know that can be particular agonizing, if not from pain then just from the inability to get it fixed. I hope you are not suffering too much from either.

    admin 1 month ago Reply

My tooth is not causing pain as such just where the sharp edges are catching my gum, plus it is a front tooth so very concious of it x
