Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 29/07/2026

We have made it through another week, and here we are at Wednesday again on a very hot and sunny day. This means it is time for my weekly round up post Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 29/07/2026.

My Week

This Week

Health

Dad seems to be feeling a little better each day, which is so lovely to see. However, I am still having to tell him off with his exercises as he will never fully recover if they can not do the next stages of rebuilding his jaw line. Luckily, he seems to take the nagging better from me than he does my mum

I am still trying to sort C’s migraines out and deal with new symptoms that seem to come on after trying a new medication. I am just getting so tired now and worried we will still be no nearer to sorting them before she heads off to university

Cars

Luckily, not my car this time. My parents car is old and I swear there is not a panel that does not have a dent or a scrape on. Where as I look after my car, to them it is only a car.

Mum went to go out yesterday, and came back in saying the car would not start. We called the rescue services who got it started but they said it could be a few things. I chatted to them and they are going to get a new car (they were going to get rid of it in December anyway). I thought I would have a look and I found one cheap and everything looked great. Spoke to the garage and put a deposit down. Went to check insurance and although the car is a manual it is showing as automatic so got my deposit back and carrying on looking.

Sorting

I still have a lot of sorting to do, but have found a lot of my clothes that I had forgotten about. It is like having a brand new wardrobe at the moment. I do need to crack on as I have to have it finished by next Tuesday.

What I Am Loving

Bedsure

Bedsure Cooling

It is no fun trying to sleep when it is just too hot. Bedsure recently commissioned a survey where 2000 adults were questioned. The results are as follows –

  • 48% often have disrupted sleep because they feel too warm  (with 54% women reporting disrupted sleep compared with 41% of men)
  • 25% of women say warmer summer nights have a major impact on how they feel the following day, compared to 17% of men
  • 86% feel tired, irritable or less productive the next day (rising to 98% among 18-24-year-olds
  • 20% have argued with their partner about sleeping arrangements during hot weather
  • 20% leave multiple fans running overnight
  • 17% take freezing cold showers before bed
  • 12% sleep on the floor
  • 12% use damp towels to stay cool

Now let me introduce to you Bedsures Cooling Pillowcases, If like me your head gets hot (honestly it is a thing) these are for you. With their Arc-Chill Cooling Technology, Q-MAX 0.4. These pillowcases are Soft, Silky and Breathable and with an Instantly Cool-to-Touch Fabric.

  5. So pleased to read that your father is feeling a little better but sorry that C is still suffering. You’re only young once so it’s a shame to diminish what should be a wonderful chapter of life because migraines get in the way.

    The cooling pillowcases look interesting.
