It is Tuesday whch means it is Life In A Lockdown and talking about how the past week has been for me. It was certainly a busy week. So as I talk about week 37 grab a coffee and carry on reading.
1) How are you feeling/coping?
Fed up, it is a friends milestone birthday this weekend, and we had plans to meet up to celebrate. But now the news of going into Tier 3 tomorrow all plans have been cancelled and put on hold. I am just so fed up of it all now. We complied all the way through and still are unable to make plans and see people.
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
It has been a very busy week. Last Tuesday I woke up in agony with my tooth. You may remember back in lockdown 1 I broke my front tooth. Since then I have been trying to see my dentist but was being told they are just dealing with emergencies. Last week I rang again asking for antiobitics as it was infected and had a lovely conversation with my dentist. He agreed my tooth needed dealing with and I had been very patient. So today I have a dentist appointment, although I think this is going to mean them taking my front tooth out totally. All I can say is thank god for masks.
Also last Tuesday (it was a very busy day) I had two phone appointments for C. The first was a Podiatrist, ever since she was little she has picked her nails. No amount of telling her off, telling her to stop etc worked. She now has ingrowing toenails on both her big toes. On the 23rd December, I have to take her to have two partial toe removals bless her. Both of us are not looking forward to it, but she does laugh at me having to redress and clean it, which I am not looking forward to. I also have had to get her flip flops (in December) which she never wears. Luckily we have her wheelchair so she will not have to walk.
Also on Tuesday we had her Neurologist follow up appointment. This has resulted in her medication being increased and her wanting an urgent appointment at the Eye Hospital to check the pressure behind her eyes. Due to C’s medication waking early is not an easy task, but somehow we managed to get to the hospital for an 8.30am appointment yesterday. After tons of tests she does not have pressure behind her eyes and her optic nerve is ok, the relief when they tell me that always makes me teary with relief. They did not rule out another lumbar puncture though so am now waiting to hear from her Neurologist on the official outcome.
Finally meeting our new family member
As many of you will know, I have a new granddaughter who is now 5 weeks old, those of you who are friends with me on Facebook will have seen. I took the decision to go and see my granddaughters, the eldest recently turned 3 so had her birthday presents and also to meet my new granddaughtet in person. She is beautiful, although has a very serious look about her. It was a great day seeing them.
As I knew we were heading to Tier 3 and had no idea what this meant for the important things like hairdressers. I arranged for me and C to see our friend and get our hair cut yesterday. We now have lovely hair all ready to sit and celebrate Christmas at home.
