Life After Lockdown Linky – Week 77

Week 77 of Life After Lockdown, well from when we first went into Lockdown.  From the beginning of lockdown I have been taking part in a linky where we answer questions of how the past week has been.  Originally in lockdown, and now after lockdown. How has your week been? Read on to see how my week has been.

For those wanting to take part the questions are

1. How are you feeling/coping?
2. What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
3. What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
4. What tips do you have for others when out and about?
5. What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
6. What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7. What has made you smile this week?
8. Anything else you would like to mention?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

I am struggling, even to the point I am crying now as feel so down with whatever is going on with me. C had her first counselling session with my friend last Tuesday, after the session I spoke with C and asked how it went and she told me ok and thinks it will help her.  I said I will never ask what they spoke about, but if she wants to tell me that is fine and if she doesn’t that is also fine.

My friend messaged after and said it went ok, I have seen a difference in her though.  A couple of days after she had a parcel arrive, and later that day I found her in bed reading.  Before becoming ill she always had her nose in a book at some point during the day.  When she became ill this stopped as she could not do it, so this is a major step forward for her.

 2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?

Nothing, apart from trying to still sort out C’s education which hopefully we will hear about today or tomorrow.

3) What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?

Be respectful to others, and always carry a mask and hand sanitiser with you

4) What tips do you have for others when out and about?

Be aware of your surroundings and those around you, carry a mask even if you do not wear one all the time, and make hand sanitiser your new best friend.

5) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I promise I will try to remember more, my brain is so full of C and her education, her birthday preparations, and me feeling so ill.  I honestly can not remember

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

Pain medication and my amazing friendships I am so lucky to have amazing friends

7) What has made you smile this week?

This morning, after C had a rest and became a bit more with it, we had a bit of a Mum and Daughter time as I suggested maybe we can do some baking.  She mentioned Cloud Bread, which I have never heard of and the recipes I was getting was not what she was meaning.

Apparently, this is a thing, if you want to know how to make this you can see the recipe here

We also have a ton of apples from our tree and made Dorset Apple Tray Bake, which is currently cooking.

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Nothing at the moment

Thank you to

It’s been a long hard slog to help C with her education. I do hope it all falls into place for you. It’s great to hear that she is reading again!!!

Great to hear C is reading again and so nice to bake together. Dorset apple cake is a favourite of mine, especially with clotted cream.

It is lovely to see her sit and read again, always puts a smile on my face when I see her nose stuck in her book reading. I have not had Dorset Apple Cake but it has gone down great so will be making it again, I need to try it with clotted cream now though

I have heard people mention cloud bread, but don’t really know what it is. It’s been a busy week in our house with school, college and work and all settling in to our new routine

I had no idea what cloud bread was until yesterday, I said ok thinking it was a form of bread. I googled cloud bread and got recipes for a flat bread type thing. Which was totally wrong, I have added the recipe we used to my instagram it was easy looked disgusting and I tried a little piece but not impressed, C like it though.

Thank you for sharing. This is the most real and honest post I’ve seen in awhile. I hope everything works out with C’s education and that you have better weeks up ahead.
