Starting with C
As you know C has been ill for over 4 years with a chronic illness. This has robbed her of so much of her life and now we are sorting out her teeth. Before she became ill she had beautiful teeth, but the illness and medication have had a huge effect on them. Due to another condition she has problems with her jaw making dentist trips a nightmare. So we had a referral to a dental hospital where we were looking at her having the work done under GA.
We had the appointment two weeks ago, and they think they can work with her without putting her under and without making her open her mouth any wider, that was a huge relief. She now has 5 appointments at another hospital to have the work done. Unfortunately they are early morning and I have no idea where the hospital is. I will also have to wake her early as her medication makes her drowsy, so that should be fun.
Her headaches
I realised last week, that we last saw her Neurologist Consultant in April, and it was supposed to be every 4 months. So I contacted them last week and had a reply she was on the list for October and I will hear something this week. In my mind they forgot about her.
In August we had her Optical appointment two weeks ago and apparently all fine but her discs are inflamed. We have seen an improvement in her as her headaches have not been 24/7. Unfortunately last week they came back and she has been so ill with them. I can not get hold of her supposed Consultant and got told to take her into A&E which we have done many times, sit there for over 7 hours and get sent home. She is 16 in November hopefully we can get her a new Consultant as she will be classed as an adult.
Now For Me
I have been suffering this year also. It is the dreaded menopause and since January things have got a lot worse. I kept seeing my GP begging for something to be done. Eventually I had a Gynecologist appointment and was given some miracle tablets to stop bleeding. In August I was also booked in for a hysteroscopy, and a couple of other things.
I had this done in August, I will not go into detail but had them worrying about me a couple of times. It is an experience I never want repeated. They took biopsies from my womb at the same time and I have an appointment this month to discuss this. I have had a letter and should not have googled what it meant.
I have not felt right since the hysteroscopy and am suffering all the time with pains, so no idea what is going on with me at the moment.
In other news
We have had no holidays or days out due to C, so we have been looking at redecorating her bedroom for her. Getting her to discuss anything is a nightmare bless her.
I hope you have had a good August, what nice things have you done? Were you glad to say Goodbye August – Hello September?

I hope September will be good to all of us. We deserve nothing less.
Thank you x
Too many things to take care! My best wishes for a really good September. Be patient, be strong and everything will be better!
Thank you x
It sounds like you’re having a really stressful time of it, I hope C’s health improves and you get her teeth sorted. A newly decorated bedroom sounds like a fab idea.
Thank you, am hoping she improves as well, still no start on the bedroom yet as want her to have an input and I just get looked at like I have 2 heads when trying to talk to her about it
God bless you! Things will surely get better. Take care!!
It seems that you’ll be having a busy September. Here to encourage you that you can do it.
I hope and pray that things will be better for you and C for the remainder of the year. We did not have a great August too. Illness and financial issues came up but thankfully, was resolved eventually. Keep the faith. Hugs to you and C!
Thank you and I hope September is a better month for you all x
You have shown so much courage and persistence. Hang in there through all the appointments and wishing you all the best outcomes possible for your C.
Thank you, I have only done what any other parent would do and try to get the best help for my child
Please your heart, sounds like August was no fun for you and your family. I am praying you have a blessed September. Chronic illness is no fun! I suffer from one but am determined to win this fight.
Thank you, I am not giving in and will beat this fight for her x
You really do have a lot of your plate but it sounds like you are at least getting some of the help you deserve. Fingers crossed that September is kinder to you.
Thank you, hopefully September will sort a few things out for us x
I feel for C and you both. I pray both of you. September will sort it out and all will be just perfectly fine. And then all of you will be on your holiday. You will be a relaxed Mom. Wait and watch. My prayers work as my wife says.
Thank you,I really hope September sees a better month for us, and we all need a break x
