I saw this on Facebook this morning. It got me thinking about all the chores/jobs we all do everyday and whether I agree.

Today I am talking about chores we hate, I could happily say all of them at times. I found this chart really interesting to se others views.
Table of Contents
According to this chart 2% say the worst jobs are
Cleaning the bathtub

This is annoying, you clean your bathroom, and if by magic you look and it needs cleaning again. I clean my bathroom once a day, but do have wipes to clean spills etc if I need to during the day.
Cooking

I have a love – hate relationship with cooking. I do not mind the cooking part, whether it is a family favourite or a new recipe. It is the trying to think what to cook each day, without getting moaned at by one member of your family.
Dog hair cleanup

You have all seen my dogs, one has a long coat and the other two coats. No matter how much grooming they get, it is never enough. I hoover turn around and it needs doing again. I have learnt not to stress over it so much now.
Dusting

This is one job around the house that is a chore to me. It seems that as soon as you have gone through and dusted everywhere. You could start all over again, when the kids are about it is their job.
Getting kids to school

We do not do school runs now, although I have to take C to her course in the mornings she is there. I do remember the school runs though, and how it could take her 10 minutes to put one sock one. once out the house, we had to drive as too far to walk. We would have to leave early though just so I could get parked.
Recycling

I do find this frustrating, not the recycling as we all do it automatically. but the fact they keep changing what you can and can not recycle. This has just been proven in my area with new bins and recycling rules. Another thing, which I am sure keeps my neighbours amused, is every time I go out to the bins, I get a mental block and have to open all the lids to see which one I need. It is for this reason, online recycling sites are the way to go for conveniently recycling your old tablets, smartphones, iPads, and game consoles, and even get paid for it.
Washing the car

This is something I refuse to do, my husband had his own business of car detailing. He spent many hours going through step by step how to wash my car. In the end I used to book him in and get him to do it. These days I just take it to a car cleaning place just down the road.
4% find their worst jobs are
Grocery Shopping

This has to be higher up on my list, I get so fed up with grocery shopping. I have been known to say first thing I am going shopping, and then find things to do, so I can put it off for a bit. I get fed up of trying to find things for dinner that everyone will eat, the other shoppers just stopping in front of you, or standing with their trolley blocking you, when they can see you want to reach for something. These days I tend to do my shopping online.
12% find their worst jobs are
Dishes or Dishwasher

We have a dishwasher, which I love. It is great to chuck all the dirty dishes in. However, the thing I hate is having to unload it and put it all away. Although I have found that if I start while waiting for the kettle to boil, it doesn’t take long.
37% find their worst jobs are
Laundry

I am fine with sorting the washing and putting it in the machine. It is even better when I can hang it out on the washing line to dry and the fresh smell when you bring it in to fold. The side that comes with the laundry is ironing, which I can not stand ironing and will put that off if I can. Although I do sometimes try to do it daily so it does not build up, but that never lasts long and is usually done when I start getting moaned at for no one having any clothes to wear. I don’t mind sorting it into different piles either, I hate having to hang things up as my wardrobe needs a good sort out as it is a fight getting things in and out.
So what do you think to this list, do you agree with the chart?

A very interesting post. Yes, the table is close to my issues with chores.
Supermarket shopping is also one of my disliked chores. It gets so bad sometimes putting it off that my kitchen could belong to Old Mother Hubbard. I tried online food shopping but always ended up having to go to the supermarket afterwards, anyway, so gave that up as a bad job.
My daughter loves coming supermarket shopping with me now, although it does cost me a fortune. I do sometimes do online shopping as it fits with my day at times.
Finally found a chore i hate cleaning out the wheelie bin
That is a job I do not do as have delegated that job
The recycling is up there for me, it’s never ending – especially when they DON’T collect on the right days – argh!
I am finding it easier now and find I do it without thinking at home. But when I am out it takes me forever to think about which bin to put things in
I hate everyone of those chores. The top of my list would be changing the bedding. Clean bedding is lovely to get into but putting the cover on the duvet is a nightmare.
I am with you on that one
I must be weird ! I love cleaning ! love laundry and cleaning the bath tub – weird or what !!
Laundry I love, and seeing my washing on the line drying is one of the things that makes me smile
I must not be right, but i enjoy any chore
I enjoy some more than others
Can relate to this and laundry is definitely up there as the one I hate most!
I do not mind laundry, it is the ironing and putting it away that I do not like
I am actually surprised that so many people have that view of cooking. I remember during lockdown, a lot of people started to bake, but maybe baking is different for cooking. I find cooking quite therapeutic but don’t get me wrong, when there is a day I don’t have to cook. I am also very happy. I do however, hate vacuuming, mopping, but I think that’s because I have kids and I literally see my progress disappearing before my eyes because they’re making a mess behind me in the areas I had just cleaned
Baking and cooking are different, I love baking and find it very therapeutic, where as cooking is totaaally different.
Oh god definitely putting the laundry away, sometimes it gets left all week and just piles up haha. I hate hate hate pairing up socks, my worst job for sure. This chart is interesting to see.
I have a bag of odd socks, that I keep trying to pair socks up
I hate any housework that involves having to lean over, such as cleaning the bath as I have a very bad back.
That must be hard and painful to do
find most of these jobs calming – one job I’m not keen on is ironing
Snap, I find ironing the worst job of all
I hate cleaning the kitchen and bathroom. Especially after a huge cooking meal. Its something i have to do every day but i still hate it
I hate cleaning th4e kitchen after cooking as well
This interesting. To be honest, I love grocery shopping – it’s a stress-reliever for me.
What I actually hate is mopping or cleaning the floors.
Just like you – I also don’t mind cooking. Most of the time, I enjoy it. I just wish someone could wash the plates after. LOL!
Food shopping is ok if it is not busy, I can not stand people dithering in front of me, or leaving trolleys in the way
I enjoy reading this post, and I can just imagine how should I react hehe, the worst job I can think of is ironing clothes – but I saw the most popular is laundry – which I couldn’t agree more – almost same gravity of work haha
The laundry doesn’t bother me but the ironing and putting away is one I least like
For me its washing the dishes. #blogtober
We have a dishwasher which I love
I actually hate cleaning the inside of the sink or the bathroom as I don’t like the unknown. I also don’t like cleaning the closets or pantry as I fear there might be bugs!
I am not too bad with those but they are not my favourite things to do either
How interesting! These stats are very informative. I personally get everything done by my maid. However, while I go to the mall for grocery shopping, I also take the time to enjoy myself with window shopping & a treat at the café… not much of a chore then!
That is what my problem is I don’t have a maid, I might enjoy housework if I had one
I can cook with pleasure every day, I don’t mind the grocery shopping. Cleaning is my least favorite, I am grateful for my husband, we team up so well. I cook, he cleans.
Sounds like you make the perfect team
Interesting! I feel like I would do laundry every day to avoid cleaning floors or bathrooms.
Me too although not the ironing and putting away
Laundry is an easy chore to start. Starting a load and move into the dryer doesn’t require much work but getting it out of the dryer and folding it and putting it away just takes so much time and effort that some days it’ll sit in the dryer for a day or 2!
I know exactly what you mean I hate the folding and putting away as well
I hate most of these jobs. I don’t mind planning dinner because I meal plan and every day is planned before the week even starts. I do hate doing laundry though. especially folding it and putting it away x
I can’t meal plan as I never fancy what I have planned for. I dont mind washing but folding and putting it away is another job I hate
My worst job from the list has to be ashing the dishes- I don’t enjoy it at all. Then, planning dinner because I always fall short of ideas unless I get a recipe book. Anyway, I love cleaning every corner of our house and I would do it even several times in a day.
Luckily we have a dishwasher which I love, although I dont like emptying it
My least favorite chore is cleaning the house… I am definitely going to hire that out when I move to an actual house and not an apartment!
I hate that as well, I did all my floors earlier and the dogs walk in and you would think it hasnt been done for a week
I hate housework because it is so repetitive and seems to fall largely on me which seems unfair to be honest with us all contributing to dirt or untidiness. Rehomed my dog today which pleases me as just cannot deal with extra chores these days, #Blogtober19
I hate housework as well, and it is the same in my house. I hope your dog settles ok into their new home and it will help with the mess as well x
Planning dinner is definitely up there but I think my absolute worst chore ever is making packed lunches . I can’t even explain why I hate it so much but oh I do!!!
That is something I hate doing, I said to my husband yesterday while trying to sort out shopping what did he fancy for dinners next week. All I got was I don’t know how can I think that far ahead. I did put him straight and say I have to do it every day, and plan the weekly meals the week before.
