When To Look At Alternative Flooring

We all know how hard it can be trying to find the perfect flooring for your home. With so many things to consider, from wear and tear, depending on which room it is going in. Do you have pets or children, that could ruin a carpet or scratch a wooden floor? Then of course there’s the skirting boards to think about. Can you keep the one you have already, or will you need to get them replaced to fit with your new flooring? It’s important to consider skirting boards in your budget so you aren’t left with an unexpected cost later down the line. The question is when to look at alternative flooring.

Our Bathroom Overhaul

You may remember early last year, we totally gutted our bathroom and fitted a new one. The one thing we could not agree on was the flooring. We argued over tiles, lino even wooden laminated flooring. Not to be beaten, my husband looked into epoxy resin flooring.

When I say he looked into it, he read up loads and watched videos, before putting it to me for the final decision. It is not the cheapest option, but we agreed to go ahead. My husband is crafty and very hands on with the diy. He had fitted our new bathroom, so I had faith he would do a good job.

After a lot of playing with colours, and one of the dogs getting in and leaving paw prints, while it was tacky. This is the final floor, the video really does not do it justice.

The process is easy once, you have the right quantities. In my very unprofessional terms, once the epoxy resin is made to the right quantities. You just pour out and it finds its way into all the corners. Leaving the finish looking neat and tidy.

How To Get This Flooring

I would say that most people would be like me, and love the idea of this, but would not know where to start. Which is why you can find an epoxy resin flooring contractor. Who will do the job for you.

It is so easy to keep clean, and a year on still looks like it has just been put down. What I love about it the most is, you can choose what ever colours you want, add glitter as we did. Plus you will know no one will have the same flooring as you, and it will last and look as good as new in years to come.
