Builds Team Spirit

When students are wearing their uniforms, they are representing the school they belong to. This helps to create a sense of team spirit and pride. By encouraging students to wear a uniform and sharing the message behind the school emblem, schools can develop a strong sense of community.
Improves Safety

School uniform is important because it helps to increase student safety. For example, a uniform helps teachers to easily identify their students on a school trip or spot an intruder on the school grounds.
Supports Learning

Many teachers and parents believe that school uniform creates a better educational environment because it helps students to focus on what they are learning and not who has the best outfit or designer brand.
Reduces Bullying

Fashion choices can be a major cause of bullying amongst school children. When children are all wearing the same uniform, there is less competition about who has the best outfit or who is wearing the most fashionable brands. It helps to turn the focus on to a person’s character rather than their appearance and prevents bullying.
Saves Time

Knowing exactly what your child will be wearing each day greatly reduces the amount of time it takes to get them ready for school, furthermore a School Uniform Policy reduces the administration time of tracking what everyone is wearing. Teachers can focus their time on teaching instead of monitoring clothing and contacting parents.
Cost

Finally, school uniform can help families to save money by not having to keep up with the latest fashion trends. Families typically purchase uniform for their children at the beginning of each school year. This is because school uniforms are made to last, using durable materials that can withstand washing and wear.

My son just started school but his school does not have any uniform. I thought it was a good thing so we don’t have to pay £20 for a new school jumper every time he outgrows it or damages it. But I guess it makes sense to all be dressed the. same for the reasons stated. Hopefully my son won’t be bullied in the future
I agree with school uniform, maybe a compromise is clothing that is not logo’d
We didn’t have school uniform at my school when I was younger, but I really wish we did. I remember a lot of the kids had all of the latest fashions week in and week out, whereas my mum was very old fashioned and dressed me in clothes I hated. Having a uniform would have meant we were all dressed the same and I wouldn’t have felt as much of an outsider as I did.

This is one reason that school uniforms are good for everyone has to dress the same x
I would have spend hours getting ready as a teenager if I could have chosen my own outfits, uniform was so much easier and quicker. I wore a tie from the age of 5 onward but kids tend to have polo shirts and much more comfortable options now.
I think school uniforms should be worn, everyone is then the same and no one feels different
I totally agree that wearing school uniform can prevent bullying and save time! It takes my kid long enough to put it on in the morning, I can’t imagine how long it would take him if he had full control of what clothes to wear.
On the days when my daughter had mufty day and could wear her own clothes it would take ages for her to decide. I could not have coped with that every day
My kids always wore school uniform and it was a blessing as we had no tantrums as to what to wear. It also meant that we could keep the focus on the studies. I am all for school uniforms as it means all kids have a dress code that does not depict status.
I agree having a school uniform does stop all the peer pressure of fashion and also what to wear x
