Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 29/05/2026

We have got through another week somehow I have not been able to sit and write this until today. Which means it is time for my weekly round up post Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 29/05/2026. I did start writing this post on Wednesday, just did not have the chance to finish until today.

My Week

This Week

Health

It has been another week of various health issues. Yesterday, I had my appointment with my Dr regarding my recent blood test results. He increased one of my medications, and I am starting a new course which will hopefully work and have me back on track.

On Wednesday, we were back at hospital, this time with C. She was seeing her Neurologist. A simple appointment, we ended up being there for nearly 4 hours. The appointment went great and C is now on another medication as there is no funding at all for the Botox which is the only treatment that has helped her chronic migraines. The new medication is not doing anything at the moment.

Various other treatments were discussed some more scary than others. Acupuncture was also discussed and is something C is open to trying. So will look into that for her

My Dad

This week is the calm before the storm. Next week he starts his 6 weeks course of radiotherapy. After last week, when I had a bit of a meltdown and told him straight. He has been doing so well, doing his exercises and keeping on top of everything. It is so good to see, although we had to have him at the drs yesterday as his blood pressure was really low. His medication has been amended again.

It is lovely to say Dad is doing ok even if it is for a short time until his treatment starts and the side effects kick in,

Time Out

I have been having a bit of time out, which was very much needed, Saturday I headed away for the night with C to explore the area where she is going to University. We had a lovely time shopped too much but had such a great time. Where we just had no worries or time restraints, we just went with the flow of the day.

Yesterday, I went to my happy place and we saw my granddaughters. It was such a lovely day sat in the garden watching them splashing in the pool. Lots of treats for them and of course my much needed Nanny cuddles.

The Heat

How hot has it been? I have been melting. I got a great fan last year that you charge up and then just move it around to where you are. The birds have been suffering so much they have been using it.

Also a couple of weeks ago I went online searching for air conditioning units. I found one that was £130 down to just under £40. So I got two – one for me and one for C. It does help but you have to keep topping it up with water. Although it did not really do much with the intense heat it did help a little overnight.

I have also been finding any excuse to pop out in my car and use the air con to cool down
