Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 21/05/2025

I have stumbled through another week, and waking up to find it is Wednesday again. Which means it is time for my weekly round up Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 21/05/2025.

This Week

This Week

I have been very emotional this week, and just finding everything so difficult. I think because my car is going for its MOT on Friday and I always feel nervous. But as my husband is not hear it is all down to me and I have no idea what to look for beforehand. Luckily we have been taking our cars there for years and I have emailed them with things I know need fixing for example my wing mirror that has a mind of its own. Plus silly little things.

My husband used to own his own car detailing business. This meant he was always on top of keeping our car looking clean and tidy. I have not had the energy to keep on top of it, and am forever saying to C that dad would be getting mad with me for the car being so dirty. So today I have booked a my car to be valeted inside and out.

Emotions

EMOTIONS

I know you go through a range of emotions while grieving. Ever since my husband died I have been struggling. I think lack of sleep is not helping me either. Some of you who are friends will have seen my outburst yesterday. I am very angry at the moment and can not seem to shift it. I had to let it out and hope that those who have hurt me saw this as some have said I should be getting over my grief now.

Little Changes

changes

After my husband died I was told to not do anything dramatic. She told me to do little things that I felt in control of. I took this advice on board.

This week I purchased a new shoe rack and put it together myself and I needed hooks put up on one of my doors. Instead I got an over the door one. There is no way I am ready to try drilling anything yet as that would be a huge disaster.

What I Am Loving

It is the little things that mean the most. Such as new kitchen towels. Yes that is how my life rolls these days. But seriously they are an item we all need and mine are starting to look a little old. I was recently asked by Copper Clothing if I would like to review their kitchen towels. As these are an item I use each day, I of course said yes

Copper Clothing

The Copper-Infused Kitchen Towels/ Tea Towels are made with 100% cotton fabric infused with completely safe and chemical-free copper ions, leaving you with a fresh, clean kitchen towel.

What I love about these tea towels are the results show that copper ions destroy 99% of bacteria such as Staph A, E Coli, and MRSA no matter how many washes.

Fathers Day

Fathers Day

I have been working hard on my Fathers Day Gift Guide. It has some lovely gift ideas that Dads will love. I should be going live with it this week to give you plenty of time to find that perfect gift for dad.

    1. It is hard there seems to be always something, my car failed its mot but did go through after having the failures fixed. The next struggle was needing two new front tyres not as easy as it sounds.

  2. You have got this and it is OK to be emotional for sure and so sorry about the loss of your husband. I hope only amazing things for you going forward and I will be honest and say I wan some of those kitchen towels! I need them and love the Cooper infused goodness!

    1. Thank you, I am honestly on a rollercoaster of emotions at the moment. This is so hard but I have to keep going. My car also failed its mot today so that is more expense I did not need. The copper infused kitchen towels are great

  3. I am sure when you are facing a challenging setback, little things mean the world. Kindly believe that things will get better.

  4. keep up the great work you are doing
it is the little things that will see you through these next months

  5. Hope the car MOT goes well. It’s great that it is a garage that you have using for years so you know they will do a good job. Enjoy having C at home next week for half-term

    1. I am nervous already, I just rang them to see if I can drop the car off this evening once I get C from college and drive past them. I also gave them a list of things that I need looking at. I am looking forward to having C home next week and hopefully I can get to see my grandkids

  6. Thank you for sharing your days with us. Little things are the moments that take us step-by-step along the road that is exactly built for us. Hugs, GRL.
    Yes, towels are wonderful!

  7. I made good use of your Mother’s Day gift guide, and I’ll be sure to check out the Father’s Day guide, too.

  8. There’s nothing quite as satisfying as the simplicity of getting a nice set of kitchen towels. It’s the little things.

  9. Anger is a totally normal part of grieving, especially a loss this big. It’s to be expected, and I’m sure your loved ones understand.

    1. I was talking to someone today who is coming up to 2 years since losing her husband. I asked her if what I have heard is right that the second year is harder than the first. She said yes as the first year you are in shock. Luckily my kids keep me from getting too angry and my mum lets me rant and get things out which calms me down

  10. Hanging on in there and stumbling through the week is often the best and only thing you can do.

I like your idea of buying an over-the-door shoe rack and putting it together yourself. It’s a win – and so is keeping your excellent blog running so well.

    Best wishes.

    1. I have done little things and they have helped me feeling I can do this. My blog is what is keeping me going it gives me something to concentrate on although trying to do a lot of back end bits and keep giving up

  11. I’ve grieved the loss of a close friend and it was one of the most challenging emotions I’ve ever gone through. It is not easy…And as you explained, I was angry at times, sad, crying…It was tough but I am in a much better place now…You will get there…

    1. Grief comes with so many emotions, I am angry this week and scared. I also keeping saying I cant believe he has gone. I also need him here this week to help keep me sane while my car is mot’d
