Quick And Easy Pasta Meals For Students

The new academic year is starting, for some of us this means a new chapter where our children move out of home and become students. As they start their new life at university. We have been getting prepared and as we know pasta is a cheap meal, I am sharing some Quick And Easy Pasta Meals For Students.

We love pasta, and I find using different pastas helps and makes a meal less boring and repetitive.

Creamy Lemon Pasta

Creamy Lemon Pasta

Ingredients

Pasta
Butter
Garlic. – I use lazy garlic around a teaspoon
Lemon – use lemon juice
Parmesan or cheddar
Black Pepper

How To Make

  • Cook to pasta and drain – keep some water back
  • In a pan fry the garlic in the butter
  • Add the lemon juice
  • Toss the pasta in the lemon and garlic – add a splash of the pasta water
  • Stir through and serve topping with black pepper and the cheese

10-Minute Tomato Pasta

Tomato Pasta

Ingredients

Pasta
Tine of Chopped Tomatoes
Garlic – lazy garlic
Tomato Puree
Italian Herbs

Cheese for topping – optional

How To Make

  • Cook the pasta and drain
  • Add tiny bit of oil and cook the garlic
  • Add to can of tomatoes and tomato puree and simmer for 5-10 minutes
  • Mix the sauce with the pasta and stir in a few Italian herbs
  • Top with cheese if using
  • Easy Cheesy Pasta

Tuna & Sweetcorn Pasta

Ingredients

Pasta
Tinned Tuna
Sweetcorn – tinned or frozen
Mayonnaise or creme Fraiche
Lemon

Black Pepper

How To Make

  • Cook and drain the pasta
  • Drain the tuna and sweetcorn if using tinned
  • While the pasta is still warm mix together with the tuna, sweetcorn and mayonnaise or creme fraiche
  • Add lemon juice and black pepper

Spicy Garlic Pasta

Ingredients

Spaghetti
Garlic
Chilli flakes
Olive Oil

Parmesan

How To Make

  • Cook and drain the spaghetti
  • Add some olive oil to a pan and gently fry the garlic and chilli
  • Add the spaghetti and toss together with Parmesan

Broccoli & Cheese Pasta

Ingredients

Pasta
Broccoli
Cheddar Cheese
Milk

How To Make

  • Cook the pasta and add the broccoli to the same pan for the last few minutes
  • Drain the pasta and brocolli and return to the pan
  • Stir through the cheese to melt and add a dash of milk as required
  • Add seasoning of choice

Pesto Chicken Pasta

Ingredients

Pasta
Pesto
Cooked Chicken – I use frozen cooked chicken for ease
Cherry Tomatoes

Parmesan

How To Make

  • Cook and drain the pasta
  • Mix the pasta with the pesto, chopped chicken and tomatoes
  • Serve and add parmesan if using

Student Carbonara

Ingredients

Spaghetti
1 Egg
Parmesan or Cheddar
Bacon or Ham
Black Pepper

How To Make

  • Cook the Spaghetti and drain
  • Fry the bacon
  • Mix the egg and cheese in a bowl
  • Mix the egg and cheese with the hot pasta and stir through the bacon/ham pieces
  • Add black pepper to taste

Creamy Spinach Pasta

Ingredients

Pasta
Frozen Spinach
Cream Cheese
Garlic

How To Make

  • Cook and drain the pasta
  • Over a low heat stir through the cream cheese, spinach, garlic and a splash of water

These are just a few ideas and recipes that can be changed with items added or swapped. The good thing is you can have a lot of these in the cupboard or freezer.

  1. Great recipes and not just for students but for busy Mums with families and forme when I want something quick and easy to make.

  2. I always use lazy garlic! Here’s my quick pasta meal: Pour boiling water over a handful of frozen edamame beans (or broad beans would work), bring back to the boil and add two handfuls of pasta. Cook for five minutes then add a handful of frozen peas. Bring back to the boil and cook for five more minutes. Drain and put back in pan, then stir in your seasoning. I usually add pesto and grated cheese. Lemon juice and herbs is good, too.

  3. All these look like great recipes. But I want to try the Tuna Sweetcorn Pasta cause I love tuna and pasta so much.
