Share A Recent Win

Today is Day 8 of the Blogtober 2026 Challenge and today the topic is Share a recent win.

There are two ways of looking at this is it an actual win or is it a win in life? I can talk about both

An Actual Win

Win

For years I have been doing the Postcode Lottery. We started doing it when one of our friends parents won £20,000. Along the years we have won the odd very small prize of £10 or £15.

Last month, I had an email I had won and I ended up with a new Tefal baking tray. Not a huge amount that is advertised on the tv but it is something.

My Win In Life

Win In Life

For some this will probably sound quite silly, but for me it was a win.

C recently started University, which meant she moved into student accommodation. On the day, I managed to load up the car like a tetris puzzle. Find our way to the drop off point and unload the car in three trips.

As I say for many of you this is not a win. For me who has relied so heavily on my husband and this would be his ‘job’ as opposed to mine. It was a daunting task that went ok. I was shattered when we got home though.

I did rely on him for so much, we just fitted well together in our own little roles. Now I have had to step in and take charge of his roles as well. Yes, I can do it.

Not everything though, as there are some things I just can not do. But I can live with that

Wins are often not big shiny in your face wins, but often they are small quiet wins that just slip in to your day.

What have you won at lately?

  1. It’s the little wins of being a widow that make us realize we can live after our spouses go to heaven. Hang in there, girl.

  2. Well done on winning that Tefal baking tray, a win is a win! Wins don’t have to be the biggest, sometimes the smallest of wins bringing the greatest joy!

  3. I can’t agree more with you. Some wins are huge and very “visible” but most wins are subtle and quiet and these matter the most.

  4. I LOVE seeing posts like this for our wins. It’s so easy to get bogged down in the negative. We need to remind ourselves of the positive, too!

  5. Aww, well done on your personal wins and doing the move successfully. Always nice to have competition wins too. My last competition wins were the diet coke ones- a notebook etc. It was nice to get some happy post anyway. A recent personal win is a bit general but I’m starting to say yes to things just for me again. xxx
