I am lucky to own my own home, it is an old Victorian detached house originally a typical 2 up and 2 down but has been extended to make it a comfortable 4 bedroom house.
Obviously with older buildings repairs and improvements needs to be carried out and maintained yearly, some jobs bigger and some smaller.
With Christmas out the way, this is the time we start to look and see what we are wanting or needing to do to our house this year, obviously we can not do everything. So far our list consists of
Facias and Guttering
This is something that has been on our list for a couple of years, and just something we keep meaning to do. SEH BAC offer a range uPVC roofline products that are virtually maintenance free, which is going to be so much easier as we currently have wood, which means they need constant care and attention with repainting etc.
All our windows have been replaced, both front and back, but for some reason when we were getting the back windows replaced a couple of years ago, we did not get the kitchen window replaced, so I would like that to be replaced this year as it is fairly old now, and probably one of the cheapest windows in our house, as the front we had kept in keeping with the Victorian style of the property.
This is something we need to fully sit down and talk about, we currently have sliding doors out to our conservatory. Both these need replacing. So we have to decide whether to replace the sliding door (which I hate due to it not liking me) and doing up our conservatory or replacing it. Or what I really want to knock down the conservatory and extend the house out and have bi-fold doors so you open up your entire house. This will not only bring more value to our property but will be so much nicer on a spring or summer evening.
I have been looking at pricing up for these projects and looking for a company who is trustworthy too, and one company really stands out. SEHBAC have been established for over 45 years and are an award-winning and highly respected company in the South East. When I look for a company to carry out works as those mentioned above, price is not the first thing I look for. I look for quality of work, experience of the business and reviews, which have all ticked the right boxes. They even offer finance for home improvements.
