While we are all isolating at home due to the current climate, I am trying to find items that may be slightly different or promoting products you may not have heard about. Which is why today I am going to talk about craft beer by Melvin Brewing Co.
Craft beer is becoming more and more popular with pubs and bars popping up with their own in-house craft beers. Which usually have great names. We went to a pub once with our eldest son and my husband made him order a beer called ‘Will You Marry Me’. You can also sign up to companies who source craft beers from all over the world. Meaning all you need to do is sit at home and wait for the delivery to arrive.
My husband also had a go at making his own at home, it was fun but the smell is very much an acquired taste. My whole house smelt of hops. Which is why companies that brew their own are very welcome in my house.
Who Are Melvin Brewing Co?
They first started in the back of a Thai restaurant in 2009, when the owner Jeremy Tofte decided to bring beers from the future to his home town. Starting with a 20 gallon brewing system. This quickly grew into a 3 barrel system where they started to serve their award-winning beers alongside Asian street food. These included
- The original Melvin IPA
- 2×4 Double IPA
- Ch-Ch-Ch-Cherry Bomb
Increasing In Business
In 2015 they went on to win Small Brewpub of the Year at GABF 2015. Following this they opened a 30 barrel production facility. Going on to win Brewing Group of the Year at GABF 2017.
Now they are ready to bring their beers to the world.
A Look At Their Beers
I know beer is often a personal taste choice, and this can vary with brewing, strength and various other items. So lets look at some of the beers,
A fruity and intense beer, but unlike others is not bitter – 7.5% ABV
2×4 Double IPA
The winner of numerous awards, this is considered the best Double IPA in the world – 10% ABV
Killer Bees American Blonde Ale
Being a blonde I had to include this one
This is just a small selection of their beers they have available.
If Your Beer Is Not Madness, It’s Not Beer.
I love their slogan, if you have been checking out their site you will see each of their beers have a mascot making your favourite beer easy to spot. Alongside this they have a shop where you can buy everything from t-shirts, to beer coolers, caps and hoodies with your favourite design.
I love supporting small breweries that started out small and through their own hard work have grown into an award-winning company. Melvin Brewery have obtained some amazing awards since they started out at the back of a Thai restaurant.
