Following on in my Meet The Blogger series, today I am introducing you to Vicky who blogs over at The Curved Opinion.
Meet The Blogger – Vicky
Tell Us About Yourself?
My name is Vicky, and I run my blog, The Curved Opinion.
How Or Why Did You Start Blogging?
I started my blog as a plus size fashion blog with the hope of growing my own confidence after I was inspired by other blogs I had discovered on Twitter. My entire wardrobe was black, I had no confidence and little self worth. I wanted what these other girls had.
Has Your Blog Changed Since You First Started Blogging?
I have always wanted to and loved writing opinion pieces so there are a lot more of those on the blog these days. My blog is more lifestyle and opinion now, with the occasional fashion piece now and again.
What Has Been Your Funniest Moment Since Starting Your Blog?
Probably when I first met someone, a stranger, who reads my blog. I found it hilarious, probably a nervous reaction, that a real life person read and apparently enjoyed the musings I put on my page.
What Has Been Your Worst Moment Since Starting Your Blog?
I am not backwards at coming forwards with opinions on Twitter. When you have a plus size fashion blog this can backfire, when a troll who disagrees with you decides to scroll through your photographs and create a meme of you in a swimsuit. Thankfully, by that point, I had a thicker skin and laughed at him, rather than cried.
What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out?
Don’t think that you need to have the perfect looking blog straight away. It is your baby, let it grow organically and as you learn. Write what you know and what you love. Write honestly and truthfully. That is generally what people want to read.
What Surprised You About Blogging That You Did Not Realise Before You Started Blogging?
How much it would utterly change my life. I mentioned earlier that I had little confidence when I started blogging. Now, my wardrobe is brimming with colourful, gorgeous dresses, I have confidence in myself and finally, some self worth in myself. I am a completely different person, for the better.
What Do You Like To Do In Your Spare Time?
I love to read, travel when I can afford it and have lazy days in with film or two with my boyfriend.
If You Won The Lottery What Would You Do First?
I am a planner so I would make a plan. Decide how many to give friends/family. Pick a charity and donate. Buy a house. Take my best friend to New York. Travel a bit. Buy a car. I haven’t thought about this before, I swear ๐
Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why?
Becky Barnes from www.beckybarnesblog.co.uk. She was the first plus size blogger I came across and she was the person I aspired to be.
Blog – The Curved Opinion
Twitter – Curved Opinion
