Meet The Blogger - Lisa

Tell Us About Yourself?

Hi I’m Lisa Scott, I’m a 23-year-old freelance editor and social media executive. I’ve been blogging for over 7 years and write about lifestyle, beauty and career wellbeing.

How Or Why Did You Start Blogging?

I started a hobby when I saw other people reviewing their favourite makeup products. I joined in with pictures in my messy teenage bedroom and it went on from there. It was such a community based group that’s now gone huge! Luckily I still keep in touch with most of the people I met through blogging at the beginning.

Has Your Blog Changed Since You First Started?

I’ve developed out of just beauty and into career and lifestyle. This is continuing the idea of writing about what I know and experience. Naturally my writing and photography, alongside everything web has transformed to hopefully a better blog than what I began with.

The name has changed too – it used to be ‘It’s all about creativity’ but what a mouthful that is!

What Has Been Your Funniest Moment Since Starting Your Blog?

It wasn’t particularly ‘jokey’ but I do find it mad that in the last few years, this blogging lark has brought in some income my way and allowed me to work with some amazing brands. It’s funny how it all comes around when you work hard!

What Has Been Your Worst Moment Since Starting Your Blog?

Being copied does get me down. It will happen in ANY industry but there’s nothing more soul-destroying than seeing your ideas just being replicated.

What Advice Would You Give To A New Blogger Starting Out?

Write about what you know and what you like. Don’t do it for the money, it’s a tough competition as it is and it just doesn’t happen immediately.

What Has Surprised You About Blogging That You Did Not Realise Before You Started?

I think the enormity, back when, wasn’t known. There are bloggers in every town now and it’s crazy where you meet them!

What Do You Like To Do In Your Spare Time?

I like to do absolutely nothing haha! I work all day in social media and breathe it when I work on my blog. I like to chill out at home, go out for dinner, shop, Netflix, all that good stuff.

If You Won The Lottery What Would You Do First?

I would pay off all of my bills and my families bills then go live in The Maldives for a bit.

Who Is Your Blogging Hero And Why?

Vix Meldrew is an incredible blogger and has transformed how I see my blog as a brand. She has taken her lifestyle blog to a business model and it’s inspirational.

It is sad when the things we put out there get plagiarized. I know there are ways to find out. I am always curious to find out how people realized they were getting copied.

It is sad when this happens, all your hard work copied, I know sometimes it is quite blatant x
