How To Keep Our Energy Levels In The Hot Weather

There is no denying the weather has been very hot, with the warm weather to make another appearance. Here in the UK, we are just not used to the hot weather or prepared for it. One thing myself and everyone I know is saying is how low our energy levels are. Which is why I am sharing How To Keep Our Energy Levels In The Hot Weather.

Stay Hydrated

The obvious thing is to stay hydrated. I am so thankful to my water bottles as they keep my drinks cool all day and all night.

Make sure you have your water filter checked and replaced if necessary. Or if you have a water cooler installed in your fridge give it regular maintenance.

  • Drink water regularly – not just when you’re thirsty. Dehydration is one of the biggest energy zappers. Maybe get one of those water bottles that have measures on
  • Have electrolyte-rich drinks (like coconut water or oral rehydration solutions) if you’re sweating a lot. My daughter uses satches that she can add to bottled water
  • Avoid too much caffeine or alcohol—these will dehydrate you

Eat Light and Often

  • Heavy meals make your body work harder to digest, raising your internal temperature.
  • Opt for lighter, more frequent meals—think fruits, vegetables, salads, smoothies, and lean proteins.
  • Hydrating foods like watermelon, cucumber, and oranges are great choices.

Frozen Treats

Along with eating little and often to avoid heavy meals. There are also the iced treats that you can enjoy and have fun making yourself at home.

As I have found out checking your electrical appliances is a necessity. If you maintain them well they will, look after you. If your fridge freezer is getting older. Maybe it is time to start to forward plan what your replacement will be. As we all know it happens at the wrong time. My freezer broke the night before my husbands funeral so always a time you do not need it.

Dress Smart

Linen Clothing

What you wear can also help with keeping cool. Pus ways to keep the sun of you if you are out in the sun

  • Wear light-colored, loose, breathable fabrics like cotton or linen.
  • Use a hat or umbrella if you’re walking in the sun.

Time Your Activities

running shoes

Like most things if you enjoy a jog or keep fit. Look at changing the times you usually are active to cooler parts of the days. The same as if you are walking your dog, make sure you do it at the cooler parts of the day

  • Avoid intense physical activities during the hottest parts of the day (usually 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.).
  • Schedule workouts or errands in the early morning or late evening.

Listen to Your Body

feeling dizzy

Heat can affect us in many different ways. It is so important to listen to your body

  • If you’re feeling dizzy, weak, or overly tired, rest and rehydrate immediately.
  • Don’t push through exhaustion in the heat—it can lead to heat exhaustion or heat stroke.
