The sun is shining and we can feel that finally Spring has arrived. The sky is blue and the sun is shining which means now is the time to bring Spring indoors. I am sharing How To Give Your Home A Spring Upgrade.
Table of Contents
Let the Light Back In

We have gone through Winter with those cold, dark and grey days. Where we happily shut our curtains and hid away from the wind and rain outside. Now Spring is here we can let in the light and smile at the brighter days.
- Open windows daily – Even if you do this for 10-15 minutes. Letting that fresh air in makes such a difference
- Clean windows or mirrors to brighten rooms – This is something I am terrible at, but always do when Spring is here
Lighten Your Layers

I love to swap my throws and cushions around depending on the season. It always gives me a smile when I get to change to Spring and let the lighter colours coming through
- Replace heavy throws with cotton or linen
- Switch dark cushion covers for lighter tones
Lighten Up Your Bedroom

Along with opening windows, Spring is the time we can upgrade our bedding. From the cosy duvets that kept us warm through the long, dark cold nights. Now we can look at letting the lighter brighter colours uplift our bedrooms.
A firm favourite is Bedsure who have some amazing bedding options including –
- Bedsure Seersucker Duvet Cover Set – Recently launched beautifully textured seersucker duvet set instantly elevates a bedroom while regulating temperature as nights get milder. The subtle square pattern brings a serene feel and a touch of elegance to the bedroom, while the breathable fabric encourages airflow for a fresher sleep. The reverse side features a buttery-soft brushed fabric that’s gentle on skin, making it both practical and comfortable for seasonal transitions. It even features a zipper closure, ensuring effortless insertion and reliable performance night after night. Available in four neutral tones and sold exclusively on Amazon UK, prices start at only £16.99
- Bedsure 100% Cotton Jersey Fitted Sheet – A breathable cotton jersey sheet that feels like a favourite T-shirt, soft, stretchy and offers gentle softness against skin without irritation or discomfort.
Bring the Outside In

Flowers always brighten my day, and a lovely way to have a bit of nature in your home.
- Fresh flowers – Daffodils and Tulips are great in the Spring. If you do not like cut flowers you can opt for silk flowers
- Potted herbs – great to keep in the kitchen
Reset One Space at a Time

Everyone talks about the Spring Clean. I know I am guilty of it myself. It can be a daunting task as you look around and see what needs to be done. My advice is to forget the idea of a massive spring clean. Do it in small chunks instead –
- Clear one surface
- Tidy one drawer
- Declutter one corner
Change the Atmosphere

One thing I love is home fragrances. I have them all over my home. From scented candles to reed diffusers and also plug in and automatic air fresheners.
Now is the time to swap your cosy scents and go for the lighter spring fragrances that are around
How do you embrace Spring?

This post captures the exact energy that comes with the first burst of spring – that moment when the sunlight suddenly exposes every dusty window and heavy winter throw you forgot about.
The sun can be brutal when it highlights the dust or dirty windows
Some nice ideas. I like the idea of changing the bedroom colour scheme for lighter colours.
I do love switching up colour schemes for each season
beautiful ideas – live all your suggestions – hoping to get my livingroom done this year
I need to do my living room but for now it is the little easy changes
I just can’t get motivated on spring cleaning at the moment
I have little burst where I do things then other times am like you with no motivation
It has been so sunny this springtime, so it feels perfect to upgrade your home! Thank you for these tips to refresh my home.
I do love to update things around the house when the seasons change
Nothing shouts spring to me more than a brand new fresh set of bedding , you just can’t beat it x
I agree nothing like brand new bedding to lift the mood
I love this so much and all are great tips for lightening things for the Spring season….and I so look forward to it each and every year. I always change the fragrances that I melt in my wax warmers too…. and go to things like forwards and clean wonderful scents. Love this post so much!
I do love changing the scents in my wax melts as well to something a little lighter
I love lightening up my bedroom, especially in spring. For example, I am having tulips all over the house right now, and it feels incredible. Definitely a must for everyone!
I do love tulips, I alternate between tulips and daffodils
I love a good spring clean! We lost the Internet for a day and a half over the Easter weekend so I had a good clean while I waited for it to come back on. It definitely felt like a good use of my time!
Having no internet gave you a great reason to do a bit of a clean. I have so much to do now I seem to have gone down a rabbit hole of cleaning and sorting
I can’t wait for the weather to get better so I can start making these changes. The spring upgrades are a must…Thank you so much for the amazing ideas.
We had a summer day yesterday the weather was amazing
I always want to freshen thing sup this time of year, I’ve done a few small changes in my home as well 🙂

It only needs to be small changes that makes so much difference
I do enjoy a good Spring clean, but as you suggested I only tackle one room at a time so I’m not overwhelmed.
I find if I think of the whole house I get to overwhelmed but one room at a time is much easier
Resetting one space at a time is great advice. Last week I was working on the dining area and refreshing the paint, decluttering and deep cleaning. It feels so much fresher and has made me feel calmer too!
I do find one room at a time helps and it makes you want to continue each room
The inside of my windows need a good clean. I didn’t notice it in the winter, but the sun has revealed it!
The sun is horrible for pointing that out, cleaning my windows inside is my next job
The bedroom is always the first place I start in spring. That’s mainly because I’ve loaded it up with blankets for the winter! LOL.
I need to finish my bedroom as have updated the bedding but need to sort the winter clothes as can not see me needing my warm winter jumpers now
I like the idea of ‘bringing the outside in’ as we are really lacking in plants and flowers.
I do love having plants around
