How To Get A Good Nights Sleep

Our sleep is important for our well-being. It has physical and mental benefits. People often think that they need to spend more time on the quality of their sleep, but what they don’t know is that it starts with what you put on your bed.

Some of us swear by our pillows no matter the shape or size, while others might not be as picky about what they use. But there are some things you should pay attention to when buying a new pillow for yourself or your loved one.

Size matters! One of the first things you need to think about is whether or not your pillow is too high for you (and vice versa). A good way to find out this information is by trying out different shaped pillows like back support pillows, neck support.

How to get a good nights sleep

1 – A good mattress

One common reason we get a bad nights sleep is due to our mattress.  We should be changing our mattress every 6-8 years.  Changing your mattress takes a lot of time and research to find one that you can both agree on and that will last you.  When did you last change your mattress?

We should be changing our pillows every 1-2 years, one way we can keep our pillows in as good a shape as when they were new is to use pillow protectors.  There are so many types of pillows on the market from feather to fibres and a variety of support options you are bound to find a pillow perfect for you.

3 – Lavender

Lavender has so many great qualities, and one thing it boasts is helping bring on natural sleep.  My daughter suffers with sleep and uses a lavender pillow spray and also takes lavender capsules to help her sleep.

4 – Caffeine

Limit your caffeine before bed, it is a known stimulant that can affect your sleeping pattern

    I find I struggle with my sleep. It’s not caffeine I think I just naturally have too much energy. Lavender is amazing as it can help sometimes.

      Caffeine does not affect me either, lavender is great and helps C who struggles with sleep

    A good night’s sleep is so precious and vital for our health. Agree on the tips above especially having that good mattress. Yes, lavender, too, helps us enjoy our bedtime.

    Ever since we got our mattress we’ve slept so much better, and then we did invest in good pillows and that makes such a difference too x

    I’ve been trying to improve my sleep and it’s got better since I got a new mattress, but I think I could do with some comfy new pillows too.
