Diary Of A Menopausal Mum – 25/01/2023

Another week has flown by and it is Wednesday again. As you know this means tha it is time for my weekly round up post, Diary Of A Menopausal Mum – 25/01/2023. Where I share the past week in the StressedMum house.

Health

health

Last week I mentioned I was going for private treatment for my gynae problems. I had the appointment on Thursday. I have a condition called Lichen Sclerosus, treatment on NHS is just apply a steriod cream. They do not treat any other way.

I found a clinic that is not too far from us that offer treatment. I was extremely nervous when I turned up for my treatment, but was soon put at ease. Two huge syringes of blood was taken from me and then put in this special machine to do its magic. The results were then injected into me. I found out that they have patients from all over the UK and abroad as it is a very niche treatment and they are the only clinic that offers this.

I am still a little sore but no longer walking like John Wayne and can feel a difference this early on.

Migraines

migraines

As you may remember C suffers with ongoing migraines, which means she has them 24/7 365 days of the year. For this reason she is under the hospital and has GON injections 12 weekly, although they are moving to every 10 weeks.

The injections sound a lot worse than they are, and have given C so much relief. Sadly, they are not giving as much relief as they should. Which is why they have moved to every 10 weeks. They have also now prescribed a migraine medication, she had at the start and the only medication that gave her some relief. She was only taken off it as she was 11 and too young. She is now waiting an appointment for St Georges for a new treatment which will involve injecting herself at home. Will keep you updated as no idea how long the waiting list is.

Work Experience

work experience

Last week, I was talking about how C needs to do 70 hours of work experience for part of her Animal Care Course. It got to the stage I was sitting on google maps and sending her links to websites and she would contact them. She was just getting no response and could see it was worrying her.

She had also contacted a farm where a couple of her friends were going, it would have been a nightmare journey for me to take her but said try. Last week, she had confirmation from a vets local to us, and they have given her what hours she will be working and her duties. She is so happy as would love to work in a vets in the future.

Exciting Times

skip hire

You may think I am a little sad, and I probably am. Tomorrow we are having a skip delivered so the big declutter can commence. I can not wait to turn our spare room back into that and not the junk room. It will also make it easier when my grandkids stay.
