It is StressedMums 8th Blog Anniversary. I can not believe I have been writing my blog for 8 years now. So much has changed in 8 years.

How It All Began
This picture was taken 8 years ago. C was in year 6 of Primary school and it suddenly hit me. She would not need me so much. She would be going onto Secondary School in September, no more school runs as she wanted to take the bus.
I was chatting to my husband, and announced that I wanted to write a blog. More so as a diary for me to look back on memories. He ran his own websites so set me up. He asked what I wanted to call it, and came straight out with StressedMum. As C had just got in a strop with me.
Hard Work
Blogging is not just hitting the new post button, there is so much more work that goes into it. You need to promote on social media, and then it is also about SEO which I had no idea about and can get very confusing.
I joined various blogging groups, and found them to be so helpful. he blogging community is surprisingly friendly and very helpful. I even am admin on a blogging group now, and have made some lovely friends.
Life Has Changed
5 months after the picture of C above was taken, she walked over to me and said she felt ill, then her legs went on her and she collapsed in my arms. Life changed for us at that moment. After a long battle she was diagnosed with a chronic illness. It was hard watching her suffer and not being able to take the pain away. I cried away from her and got very angry. My blog was my lifeline, it gave me a channel to speak about ME and be a voice to others going through the same. We helped each other.
Grandchildren
When I started writing StressedMum, It was myself, my husband, our daughter and my two stepsons. Now we have 4 grandchildren, and I do love being Nanny and spoiling them.

Congratulations on 8 years and here’s to many more! I love the variety on your blog. If I had to pick a favourite post it would be a recent one – Essential Packing Checklist for Families on Caravan Holidays simply because it brought back so many happy memories of when the children were tiny and I had my Infallible List. We weren’t caravanning but we had to do a lot of visits to grandparents who were not well enough to travel and I knew that if I had every item on it everything would work out.
Lists really are a necessity especially when travelling

What I love about your blog is your honesty. You write it as it is without hiding behind corners which is so refreshing to read. I’ve learnt a lot about your blog. I love your adventures and when I’m reading them, I feel like I’m there experiencing it first hand too. I have never been camping or glamping but I’m glad to hear about the little disasters here and there (still need to find out how you broke the bed or how a hole got there).
Although we’ve never met, I feel like I know you and your family. I love your two little additions to the family, Piplup and Gizmo and I love hearing about C’s growth into adulthood.
One of my favourite post has to be about your air fryer and what you can cook in there. I guess I’ve never bothered to research as I am always cooking the same things in there. I was so shocked you can make scones and cheesecakes .

Thank you that is so lovely to read. Sharing how our lives changed with C’s illness helped me let my emotions out. The hole in the bed no idea it was an electric pump up and caused a huge argument as hubby tried to fix it.
