Tuesday is my Life After Lockdown Linky post, where I share along with other Bloggers how the past week has been. Now into week 99 since all this started will life ever be the same again.
The past week, as those who are regular readers will know has been very stressful.
If you would like to take part the questions are
- How are you feeling/coping?
- What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
- Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
- What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
- What tips do you have for others when out and about?
- What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
- What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
- What has made you smile this week?
- Anything else you would like to mention?

How are you feeling/coping?
As you will have seen from recent posts, it has been quite stressful. As you will know C has suspected appendicitis, our GP has confirmed this, trips to A&E has confirmed this. An urgent scan request was sent middle of January and I was told by email last Friday that it was not noted as urgent so was not actioned as urgent. Had I not got my MP onto the case we would still be waiting.
We have a scan booked for next Monday, but it needs to be sooner, now waiting on a phone call for any cancellations. We ended up in A&E again last night as she can not eat due to pain, can not walk around or sit without pain, and lying in the most awkward positions to try to get some comfort. They took bloods and inflamation markers are still showing something, but even though examination had her nearly through the roof, she told me it is not appendicitis as her stomach would be rock hard. I argue this as mine wasn’t and told her mine burst as they had me on the operating table. We were just told to go home nothing they could do.
I am out of my mind with worry, and struggling, I have been onto PALS who were great.
What have you been up to over the past 7 days? Are you living life as normal, being cautious or still being very careful?
Fighting with hospitals, GP and falling out the car in slow motion with my husband there to witness it. I went straight down on my knees and thankfully just bruised.
What’s a helpful tip you would like the future to know about living in / or after a pandemic?
Covid is still with us, it probably will never go away, but at some stage we do need to get back to normal
What tips do you have for others when out and about?
Be respectful of others, wear masks, use hand sanitiser and give space
What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
Just remembering to eat for me is a struggle at the moment, I will get better at this part I promise
What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
My parents, they have allowed me to rant and cry and get the frustrations out
What has made you smile this week?
My middle child, he pops up with the weirdest of messages that just make you laugh. That child is one of a kind
Anything else you would like to mention?
We need to start moving back to normality, fight for what you need, but always be respectful. We need to start moving forward not being stuck where we are
Thank you to

I hope you get answers soon!
Thank you think it is going to be a long ride to dee what is wrong
I literally cannot believe you are having to wait for this emergency operation! This is terrible. Your poor daughter. She must be in agony. I really hope this gets sorted soon.
It gets better, will do a proper update in next weeks posts x
Your poor daughter, hope she gets it all sorted out soon, she must be in agony.
It is a complete nightmare, we did have the scan yesterday but that is a totally different story.
You are right that we need to start moving into normality and learning to live with covid as much as we can, it is scary though x
It is scary, a friend of mine and her husband who have had both their vaccines and booster are currently ill with it. So it is not going anywhere, but also we need to start being able to move forward as well
I know the feeling of constantly fighting GP’s and Hospitals, my GP still won’t see patients face to face and it really is becoming ridiculous now x
It is getting that way, my MP is the Lib Dems leader, and is really good at fighting for getting things back to how they used to be.
Sorry you’re still waiting for a diagnosis (Apologies I completely misread the part about it being appendicitis). I’m really surprised they’re being like this with scans for something that seems quite urgent. Hopefully a cancellation slot comes up ASAP and C will find out what is wrong sooner rather than later.
Thank you we do have a cancellation for tomorrow which is a huge relief
I can’t believe you have been writing these posts for 99 weeks now. Seems a life time ago when covid first hit now
I know it does seem to have been going on a lot longer
Oh Im sorry to hear you’ve been in a&e, you must be so worried about her. I think I would just keep going back until more answers. I hope you get them
After a lot of arguing we have a scan booked for tomorrow thankfully
I hope that C will get the scan she needs in order to find out what is going on. It’s surreal that you have had to get your MP involved for something to change and that the hospital sent her home in pain. It’s so ridiculous!
I have made it clear how I feel, we do now have a scan booked for tomorrow though x
I really love this idea for blog content and linking up again. You don’t see much of that around anymore, with reels and tiktok. I prefer a reading blogs over videos anyway. I wish I had see this link up before what a great way to stay connect.
I do love linkys and have been part of this one from the start, it is great to look back on just what we have come through
Sending you so much love – it is appalling how C has been treated and I truly do hope you get some answers soon.
Thank you, hopefully next week we should know what is going on and treatment, have managed to get a scan tomorrow
