Day 11 of Blogtober, and today the prompt is What am I scared of? I will talk about two of my fears. Plus a conversation I had with C a couple of weeks ago.
Table of Contents
Snakes

Ok I know this is a picture of worms, but I could not find a nice snake picture. I can not stand snakes, and go nowhere near them if I can help it. C on the other hand loves them.
Once we were on holiday, had arrived and got changed for dinner. After dinner C was begging to go to the childrens entertainment, so we headed down. We found a table and my husband was just about to go and tell her where we were sitting. When we realised she was on the stage holding a huge snake.
I also hate worms, C had a friend worm when she was little who she named wormy. Whenever, she saw a worm in the garden, she would bring it in to show me. I would say very nice, now take it back to its Mummy. She never realised it was different sizes each time.
Spiders

Another thing I hate is spiders, sadly my husband is the same. C can spot one a mile away, I am ok a long as its not too big and I know where it is.
I just see nothing nice about them at all, and hate they can just crawl onto or near you.
A Recent Chat
As many of you know C is doing an animal care course at college. They have a huge range of animals, and they change over areas, after a few weeks or help out if needed. At the moment C is doing the rodents, and although I can not stand rats, one called Daphne sounds a right character/
She has half day on a Friday, and I was waiting for her to come out. She came up to the car smiling, and got in and said guess what I did today. She held a snake and a tarantula. I did ask how, the child who can spot a bug or spider a mile away can hold them. Apparently they are cute and totally different.
I could share more things that scare me, but will save for another time. What are you scared of?

I’m so glad I have never been given an opportunity to hold a snake. I don’t know how I’ll react. Like you I am also scared of spiders and I am definitely not one to watch a horror film. I can just about watch Thrillers. I am also terrified of rollercoasters and most bugs. I think a place like Australia will freak me out where bugs there are 10x the size
You sound very like me, although we do hope to visit Australia one day
I am scared of so many animals like lizard, cockroaches. Snakes spiders worms and many more.
You would hate to be doing what my daughter is at the moment as deals with all of these
I am very scared of snakes as well, though there is no reason behind it as I never had any bad experiences with snakes. I even hold some and was surprised how soft their skin is – not slimy as I imagined.
I have never been close enough to touch one but have heard they are not what you would expect them to feel like
Like you I am not a fan of creepy crawlies like snakes or spiders or lizards or cockroaches as well. So I am glad you posted a photo of a worm instead of a snake.
I did look at snakes but thought I would go for worms instead as less scary
Spiders…yuck. I have been afraid of them since I was a very young girl. We’ve been battling them all summer.
I can’t stand them and you can lose sight of them so easily
I hate both of these 2 aswell! I also do not like moths!
I am ok with moths
Ooh I’m scared of certain types of bugs too. I think some spiders are so scary! Way to go C for being so brave.
Snakes don’t bother us, I’ve some really great photos of us holding huge snakes. I don’t like spiders though.
You are very brave, I have been known to back away when C has been holding snakes, such a supportive Mum
Oh my gosh, spiders 10000%. It’s their legs, and the speed they go at LOL. #blogtober22
It is and that they can disappear so quickly and have you trying to see where they are
Snap! We are both scared of snakes! My kids have also held snakes before – I can’t deal but I also don’t want to give them my fears – its a juggling act.
My daughter is doing animmal care at college and this week moved to exotics room which has a snake
I am scared of spiders, but a friend has a phobia of cotton wool!
not hear of cotton woold phobia before
It’s funny, I’m not afraid of anything big like bears, snakes, and the like. I am terrified of anything with six legs, though.
6 legs is too many legs for me
I don’t have much that really scares me mainly because I avoid things that scare me. I do not watch horror movies or scary movies because I do not like to be afraid.
I refuse to let anyone have horror movies on in our house
I’m scared of cockcroaches ! I put my school blazer on ready for the new term and a whole load flew out ! they petrify me now
I am with you on that one, no wonder you are scared of them though
I am scared of spiders too, but the other thing I am scared of is clowns. The ones that look like the original IT
I dont like scary clowns either
I’m petrified of spiders hate them just the thought of holding one makes me cringe my worst fear is having one in bed with me at night 🤣
I am the same as you, I can not stand them
I’m scared of Moth’s,don’t know why just am.But i’m also scared of heights
C doesn’t like moths either
I am actually OK with spiders and snakes. My daughter will scream if there is a spider in the house and it is often my job to catch it and put it outside.
C will be the same if there is a spider around, honestly do not understand her at times haha
I am scared of snakes too so is my husband is tbut he did have nest of slow worms put down the back of his shirt when he was young so that’s understandable. However I really love spiders and could set up a business getting them safely out of friends’ homes
Your poor husband that would be enough to scare me for life. I can not stand spiders, C has just text me to say she has now moved to the exotics room at college and there is a tarantula called Dave who apparently is cute
Snakes don’t bother me but looking at that worm reminded me how much I hate them.
Spiders terrify me. Thankfully my family are not bothered by them so will remove them if they can catch them. Eek!
C is really brave to be holding all of those creatures. It sounds like she’s enjoying college. x
I can not stand them, she is loving her course and the animals. It is one thing I love when I pick her up hearing about the animals and what she has been doing
I’m scared of snakes as well. I used to have a recurring dream about them taking over my backyard as a kid. Terrifying!
That does sound terrifying, I can not stand them
My sister is terrified of snakes too. She had to leave her uni accommodation as other students had a pet one in their room! My kids are all good at holding them etc, which I’m pleased about but couldn’t do it myself. I used to be fine with spiders as a kid but now I’m terrified and call the kids to put them out lol. We’ve had huge ones this Autumn :-(. They would love a Tarantula, but it’s a no from me! I’m scared of heights xxx
C has always been fine with holding snakes etc, no idea where she gets it from
