Day 10 of the Blogtober 2025 and the prompt is The Colours I Notice When I Slow Down. This one made me stop and think about the colours I see all around me. I mean we are going through a very dull and dreary October. How wrong was I.
It is amazing that when you take that step back you do notice the colours around you. Colours you see every day but never really notice. When you do stop and take you will not help but smile with the natural beauty around you.

Rust and Amber
You just have to look out the window and notice nature changing for the season. As leaves turn from green to burnt oranges, fading golds, deep rust reds clinging to branches that soon will be bare. The leaves aren’t just dying; they’re transforming. A final burst of colour before the rest.
Cream and Honey
Take a look at your morning coffee. For me it is my little bit of comfort before I start the day. Looking more deeply you see the swirl of cream turning the dark roast into a soft caramel brown, sunlight catching the rim of the mug. Warm, steady, familiar.
Soft Grays and Candlelight
Those days where you are at home. As the daylight starts to fade the sky gets grey and turns darker. Light a candle and have a little flicker of light. I also have fairy lights around for a much softer glow
Deep Greens and Earthen Browns
While walking my dog I noticed the greens and browns that were all around me. The damp soil underfoot and the multicoloured leaves all around me. The greens of ferns and moss, add a little sunlight and the colours sing out at you
What colours do you notice when you stop to look and take in what is all around you?
I love the Autumn coloured leaves, although lots of them got blown off in that strong wind
