I have been tagged into the Blogger Interview by Helen at Beautiful Things, I was very happy to accept the invitation to take part in the interview, as I do love the tagging posts, as it ask questions so that you can get to know more about me, and also I get to learn about other bloggers, that we wouldn’t normally find out from their blog.
So here is the interview, hope you enjoy it
How did you get into blogging?
I have always read and enjoyed reading blogs and I follow a variety of different blogs. It was something that I had often thought about doing ‘one day’, but that day never came. So, one day I decided to bite the bullet and just go for it, with the help of my wonderfully patient husband, he helped me set up my blog, and off I went. I mean what could be the worst thing that happens, no one reads my blog, but at least I would have my memories and thoughts to look back on. I am so glad I did go for it, as I have made some amazing friends and am overwhelmed at how much response my blog actually receives.
What advice would you give to a blogger just starting out?
You have to have it in your heart to want to be a blogger, and know what you want to blog about, believe me there are so many wonderful blogs out there and such a wide variety of topics. I have only been doing this a short while, but have learnt it takes a lot of hardwork and dedication, to get your blog out there. The best advice I can give anyone, is research, read blogs and follow the ones you like, write about something you are passionate about, join twitter, and facebook groups, there are some great groups out there and you can get so much help if needed and support, or just meet up and talk to other bloggers. Don’t just see a link and like it, read other blogs and comment.
How has your blog changed since you started writing it?
As I have already said, my blog is fairly new, so am still learning, and tweaking it, and I have so much more I want to write about and topics to add. So it is still a work in progress. I am much more confident in my writing now, as to my very first post, and hopefully that will go from strength to strength.
What would be your dream campaign?
Now that is a very hard one, anything relevant to my family, photography as well as currently am learning photography to follow another passion of one day becoming a childrens photographer
What advice would you give to PR’s wanting to approach you for a campaign?
Just contact me and ask, I am very friendly and approachable, and will always give a good honest review.
Do you have a plan for you blog?
Not really, I have a long list of topics I want to discuss in the future, I do have a little notebook that is always near me, where I jot down various things that come to mind, or recipes I haven’t tried in a long time. But just go with the flow really
What do you think about rankings?
I have to very differing thoughts on rankings. Firstly, it is nice to see how your blog or post is being received and obviously, companies only want to use sites that have a lot of traffic to it. But for those starting out, although they have a wide covering, through many different avenues will not get a look in from PR agencies. If you write your blog just to see how your rankings are, it will end up affecting how you write/ what you write and you will stop being honest with yourself.
I have really enjoyed this interview, and now would like to tag some other lovely bloggers who are sharing about their blog
Leanne at A Slice of Wales
