Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 20/03/2024

Health

health

I shared last week about my various ailments. I have the dentist next week to hopefully moved forward from my surgery a couple of weeks ago. With regards to my shoulder, arm and hand pain, I saw a physio at our GP surgery last week. She was lovely and actually told me I have two separate issues. One is my muscles in my neck the other is similar to carpal tunnel syndrome. So I have exercises to do.

I have also been chasing all over for C about her new migraine medication she is on. She has to have an injection every 4 weeks. We spoke to the headache nurse a few weeks ago and she was not much help. C is suffering what we think are side effects as long as her arm, and migraines are more severe. Spoke again to the nurse as can not get to speak to the Consultant, and was told to still carry on with the next injection.

An Update

little update

As you know we have had to separate two of our budgies as we have been expecting Snowy to lay eggs. You may have already seen my updates on Instagram but we now have 3 eggs

3 budgie eggs

It is not the best picture, there is no bedding in there as Snowy kept throwing it out. She leaves them for a few minutes to get a drink or food. Gizmo is in there sitting with her a lot or on guard. She lays her eggs every two days, so we may get a fourth today.

Apparently the first egg can hatch from 1st April. C showed me her friends videos and just how tiny they are once hatched to how quickly they grow. Three healthy babies would be fine for me. As we are keeping one and two friends have already said they will have one. I can cope with that. But could not imagine sending them to strangers.

Easter

  1. Oh gosh. Just read that Caitlin is falling now due to lack of balance. I’m so sorry to hear. Must be so hard to watch. Fingers crossed you can get through to the consultant this week.

I love keeping track of Gizmo and Snowy. I’ m a complete fan. Thank you for keeping me personally updated too. Honestly, it’s been a lovely distraction to other things in my life at the moment. Also hope you get a nice warm hug from your grandkids soon x

    1. She is struggling, and off college today as feeling dizzy. We think that the medication is not agreeing with her. I have to send a headache diary via email this week, for a telephone appointment with the headache nurse next week. Who hates me, talks over Caitlin. I am hoping she now agrees and we get an appointent sooner with her neurologist.

The amount of people who are invested in Gizmo and Snowy, it looks like she is sticking at 5 eggs which I am glad for. We do have an issue with a few of the eggs, but hopefully all will be ok until next Monday. Glad I have been distracting you, 9th I get to spend the day with the grandkids and it can not come quick enough

  2. Seems like a rollercoaster of a week! I am super glad they found a root cause of your shoulder and arm pain. Hopefully those exercises will help you in no time.

In regards to C, I am sorry that a system is not in place for you to speak to he consultant when such serious matter arises. That is not fair, especially when the side effects are detrimental to one’s health. I mean headaches are emotionally and physically draining.

Also I am happy to hear you have friends willing to adopt two of the baby birds. Can’t imagine if you had to give it to strangers either. My heart would break.

    1. Hopefully the exercises will start to work soon as the pain is getting me down.

Honestly, we are used to the battles and arguments of getting to speak to someone. I hate seeing her suffer, but as she is now older she understands it more.

I have told C that I will not be able to give the babies away with out knowing the home they are going too

  3. Super excited for more updates on the eggs!! I grew up on a farm so these things are really fascinating to me!

    1. It is very fascinating and amazing, we have 4 now and maybe a 4th later today, although I had a chat with her this morning and told her she had done amazing and could stop now and have a rest

  4. I look forward to the week when you have nothing to write under the health section for you or C. Exciting about the eggs though, not long until hatch time x

    1. There have been a few weeks, where there has been nothing to update. Honestly everything always happens at the same time. I can not wait until the eggs hatch but for other reasons really not looking forward to it

  5. Oh no, poor C. It sounds like she is really suffering. I’m hoping that she’ll start seeing improvements but it doesn’t sound good with the new meds at the moment. Congrats on the 4th eggs, I spotted it over on IG!!! Hope all goes well.

    1. She is really suffering, I dropped her at her work experience this morning. She messaged to say she had fallen over as her balance had got worse and cracked her phone. We are now waiting to see if we get a 5th egg tomorrow as they can lay up to 8, but 4 is normal

    1. I know, they are now all together in a little circle and she is sitting on them, just been up to check. When she comes out for something to eat or drink she is so sweet making sure they are all covered when she goes back

  6. This is a great giveaway. I will share this with my friends and family. Thanks for sharing it with us!

  7. I hope your dentist appointment goes smoothly next week, and that C’s migraine medication side effects improve soon. It’s exciting to hear about the budgie eggs! Wishing you a restful weekend ahead. Take care!

  8. Budgie eggs! That’s so exciting! When I worked at the vet, we had finches that had eggs. It was so much fun to watch them nest and then hatch.

  9. I have been following the budgie journey SO closely! I’m so excited about the eggs. I can’t wait for more news on them!
