Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 18/12/2024

We have made it round to Wednesday again. How mad is it that this time next week with be Christmas Day. Are you prepared for Christmas or still have presents to buy. You can find out how we are getting on my my weekly round up post Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 18/12/2024.

Christmas

We should really start with Christmas this week. I am not prepared and am stressing just a little that I have less than a week to get everything done.

I have started the present wrapping which is great, still lots more to do though.

This afternoon, we have a family trip into town C wants to go to B&M and I also have a few bits to get. Plus my Dad is coming to get bits for my Mum and my Mum is coming to get a few bits.

Remembering Family We Have Lost

December is always a month of relfection for me. On the 19th it will be the anniversary of my Grandads death on my Dads side. The 14th is the anniversary of my Grandmas death on my Mums side. My Grandma was like a second Mum to me. Christmas was her favourite time of the year.

We were unable to have her favourite song Silent Night at her funeral. Spookily, I was thinking of her the other day and Sinead Oconnors Silent Night came on. I had chills (in a good way). It is now in my Christmas play list. Before we head to the shops we are stopping at my Grandparents grave to leave a Christmas Wreath. Sadly I have not been for a long time.

Budgies

So Pinky is now 5 weeks old and as you can see she is a lighter mini me of her Mum. C has been trying to get a nice picture of them all sitting together nicely. Without one looking the other way or flying off.

You may have seen on Instagram and also the poll on Facebook we have chosen Pinkys name, The choices were

  • Lily – my suggestion
  • Luna
  • Willow

Both C and I put out a poll and it was a draw between Luna and Willow. C chose Willow which does suit her.

As you will see from the pictures above Willow is a cheeky little character. She loves to be fussed and her favourite place is up C’s sleeve.

C has been chatting with her friend and on Friday, she is letting all the birds out the cage together and then over the weekend Pippy and Louie can go back in the big main cage as Willow should be ok to join them in there.

Happy Christmas

Merry Christmas

This is my last Ramblings post of 2024. I am unofficially finishing work this Friday. Next Monday we are off to see my Grandaughters with some pre-christmas treats. Then Tuesday is Christmas Eve where I head to the kitchen with C and we make sausage rolls for lunch.

Like many of us, the days between Christmas and New Year are filled with just spending time with family and friends. Which means, I will be signing off until January, although I never say never so you may see me pop up with a post or two.

I want to take this opportunity to wish you all a very happy Christmas and Happy New Year. I really appreciate all the support you have given me this year an look forward to a great 2025.
