Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 12/03/2025

I have stumbled into another Wednesday, all days seem to blur into one at the moment. This means it is now time for my weekly Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 12/03/2025.

Health

I am still hobbling around on my foot, I did think it was starting to feel better as a lot of the bruising had gone. Just yesterday I was saying to my Mum it was still painful but felt a lot better. That was until I went to bed and the pain was unbearable I must have moved it in a weird position or something. But I am back to hobbling more today.

Panic Attack

On Monday after being nagged by my family, as I am not coping and not sleeping. I contacted my Dr to see if they could offer me any assistance. I put a form request in and received a phone call asking if I wanted a face to face appointment or telephone appointment. I opted for a telephone appointment and told the Dr would ring me between 11am – 1pm. At 2.20 I rang to ask why I had not received a call and was told they could not see an appointment. So I asked if I could arrange the Dr to call me back and told they had no appointments. At this time I got upset.

She came back with between 4-5pm and I said I can’t do that as picking C up from college and had to speak to someone in college. She said could someone not pick her up. That is when I lost it and said no my husband had recently died and I am her only parent. She said they would call me back.

I put the phone down and had my third and worst panic attack. It took a while but I managed to calm myself down. My dr rang and she prescribed me Propranolol which I have started taking. They are not agreeing with me and I don’t want to be on medication anyway but I am stopping taking them and will try to struggle on without for now

Thank You

thank you

I want to say thank you to you all for putting up with my Instagram posts. I have joined a couple of groups on Facebook for those who have lost their partners. With that are a lot of quotes and they just fit what and how I feel.

My personal Facebook is set that pictures I post are shared to Instagram. This is not intentional but hopefully in time these will become fewer. Right now it is all too raw for me.

I do have some great reviews I am trying to write up as well. So hopefully I will be back to normal posting

  1. I also struggle with panic attacks – in fact I was diagnosed with a Panic Disorder in 2022 and have been managing (just about) without medication as I’m super anxious around medication as it is as I have a heart condition and lots of stuff can interact with that so I’ve opted to try and work on coping strategies – some days are okay others not so much, but do try and see if you can be referred to talking therapy as they can help

    1. I am so sorry you suffer with panic attacks. I do think it is just the shock, realisation and emotions of losing my husband so suddenly. I am hoping in time that I can move on from the panic attacks. But I will keep the talking therapy in mind though x

  2. Sorry to hear you are struggling. Panic attacks are tough and it is hard to find the support you need for things like that. Sounds like you have been dealing with a lot lately. I hope things are better for you soon!

    1. Thank you, I am trying to keep calm and avoid them, but it is so hard. I know or hope they are a temporary thing as we adjust to our new life

  3. I hope you are feeling better now. Panic attacks are really so scary. I would love to check out Mother’s Day guide.

    1. I am over that panic attack hopefully there will not be any more but this is my third one in 5 weeks. I hope my Mothers Day Gift Guide has given you some inspiration

  4. I’m sorry that you have to go through some health issues. Hang in there. And I am looking forward to those recipes.

  5. Very unfortunate and sad to hear about your panic attack. These are something I struggle with as well and have impacted me tremendously health-wise. I hope you find a way to manage any built-up stress and anxiety soon!

    1. I am so sorry you suffer with them, I have not had them before and now had 3. They are scary and this last one did take me a while to calm down from and then left me drained the rest of the day.

  6. I cannot image suggesting that someone else could pick up your child, as if that’s not something you’d do for a dr appointment you’ve had to fight for, if that was an option. I do hope things get easier for you.

    1. Thank you, I think she realised when I replied that I am struggling and she did all she could to calm me down. It was not her fault as she had not been the one who had not booked the appointment earlier. Eveything is a struggle at the moment and that was just the last straw for me

  7. I am sorry to hear you are going through this tough time. All I can say is take each day as it comes and focus on small steps.

  8. The facebook group sounds good as there will be other people there who are most likely to have experienced all the feelings and numbness that you are feeling now. Looking forward to seeing and trying your new recipes.

    1. The groups are helping as makes me realise I am not alone and this is a very long emotional journey. I will get the recipes up soon. I was planning to write one up today but then decided I needed to sort washing and descale the kettle and then look for something

  9. I had a similar panic attack situation when a family member died in the past. It hit me so hard out of nowhere.

  10. Oh, man. That panic attack sounds awful. Grief is so hard. It pops up so quickly and unexpectedly, especially at stressful times.

  11. I hope that things go very well for you as the remainder of the week unfolds
    Hope foot improves

  12. I am so sorry you’re getting these panic attacks, do you know what is triggering these? I am not sure I ever had a panic attack, what does it cause it?

  13. thinking of you, I can’t image how hard it is to go through. panic attacks are horrible and you don’t need that on top of everything bless you.

    1. I have never had panic attacks before this, so they are new to me. It is so much harder than you can ever imagine. But just taking it hour by hour and day by day

    1. I am not enjoying the panic attacks and the one on Monday was horrible, I had not thought of CBD oil but my husband tried it years ago and the taste is horrible

  14. really feel for you – panic attacks are so frightening – life will get better ……

    1. I have never had a panic attack before losing my husband now I have had 3 this one was probably the worst one but luckily I knew what to do
