October’s Quiet Moment

It is the 1st October, which many of you who have followed me for a few years will know it is time for Blogtober. Blogtober is where I join a group of Bloggers and we post a new post every day in October. I was unsure if I would take part this year, but decided to join in. It is a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Today’s prompt is October’s Quiet Moment.

While thinking of this, I was trying to think of something during this time of year that is a quiet moment. I went on google to see if I could find some inspiration and found this poem.

October’s Golden Breath

October’s sigh is warm,
Soft light before the storm.
The trees hold gold within,
As frost begins to thin.

A chill stirs in the air,
But autumn lingers there.
With every fading day,
The sun melts slow away.

Meaning

This poem captures the last traces of warmth that October offers before the colder months take over. It emphasises the delicate transition between autumn and the coming frost, with a focus on fleeting moments of golden light.

october

It has got considerably colder, and you can really tell that Autumn is now here. The evenings are getting longer, with it getting noticeably darker earlier. The weather is changing. When walking my dog I notice how nature is changing.

Although, Spring is my favourite season, I do love Autumn where we start wearing our coats and my much loved boots come back out.

It is time for those fleecy throws and warm mugs of hot chocolate, as you snuggle up to watch a film. Your slippers to stop your feet getting cold.

To me October brings those little things we all see and do everyday. Keeping warm and enjoying nature as it changes colour to those warm browns, red and oranges of nature.

What are Octobers quiet moments for you?

I hope you join me on my month of Blogtober and come back each day.

  9. I will have to think about this one but am enjoying planting a few shrubs and trees for the pollinators next year. Unfortunately, a very heavy and windy spell of rain a few days ago snapped off two of my older plants, one of which I had been training into a weeping standard for over five years. Incredibly disappointed but will press on..

  10. I think we forget about the quiet moments of Autumn. Me, I’m waiting for half term so I can get some lie-ins
