Meet The Blogger – Lisa – The Family Ticket

Following on in my Meet The Blogger series, today I am introducing you to Lisa who blogs over at The Family Ticket.

Meet The Blogger – Lisa

TELL US ABOUT YOURSELF?

I am Lisa from The Family Ticket

WHY DID YOU START BLOGGING?

A mix of boredom and wanting to keep all of the places I visited with the kids in one place to help other families.

HAS YOUR BLOG CHANGED SINCE YOU FIRST STARTED?

Massively so. Looking back at some of my first blogs is a bit cringy.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR FUNNIEST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?

Would have to be the unintended double pedicure in one day. Mix up with the second salon and lack of understanding. I was too embarrassed to stop her once she’d started wiping off the still wet pedicure from the last place. I ended up paying double for the pleasure too. I only went in for Acrylics on my hands.

WHAT HAS BEEN YOUR WORST MOMENT SINCE STARTING YOUR BLOG?

Another blogger copying my work almost to the letter and then started to get aggressive. On top of harassing me, my friends, my followers and family and generally starting a hate campaign trying to ruin me. I almost gave up but he eventually got bored once I kept ignoring him. I had to take the review option off my Facebook page to stop him from spamming that too.

WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO A NEW BLOGGER STARTING OUT?

Dont do it for the money do it for the fun. If money comes then that’s a bonus.

WHAT SURPRISED YOU ABOUT BLOGGING THAT YOU DID NOT REALISE BEFORE YOU STARTED?

Seo & DA. Who knew that once you make a website it doesn’t automatically rank number 1 on Google search.

WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO IN YOUR SPARE TIME?

Avoid people and busy places 😉 or going out and exploring new places

IF YOU WON THE LOTTERY WHAT WOULD YOU DO FIRST?

Liposuction!

WHO IS YOUR BLOGGING HERO AND WHY?

Milton Keynes kids is the nearest I have to a hero blogger. She was the first blogger I ever followed and she inspired me to help local parents

  1. Nice to “re-meet you!” That’s funny about the nail place! Also, people will always try to copy you. Just keep doing you and hopefully people will see your genuine soul!

    1. I find people try to copy as they want to be like you and be successful as you are, but the best thing is find your own path and your own voice

  2. Great to read about another awesome blogger. I love this category in your blog. It is a big help in not only knowing more about other bloggers, but learning also through the experiences they share.

  3. Congrats on starting your blog !!! Yes the key point as you have mentioned is do it for the fun of blogging. Once you start monetizing it, then it all becomes about the money and the passion and dedication fades away.

    1. I totally agree Blogging has to be fun or it just becomes something you hate doing always remember why you started blogging

  4. Great interview. I started blogging out of boredom too. I agree that she says one should blog for fun not for money. I also can’t imagine someone copying someone else’s hardwork and then harass them when it should be the other way round. I’m glad that phase is over for her…hopefully.
