Making Life Easy With Anchor Squeezy

As many of you know I do have a love of baking. It is where I find I can forget all my stresses and put my love into baking something for my family. Sadly, I have not had a chance to bake at the moment with so much going on. When I do start again I will be Making Life Easy With Anchor Squeezy.

anchor squeezy

Anchor Butter, recently carried out a poll which resulted that

  • Over half of Brits would bake more if they had more time
  • 48% agree that returning to offices and commuting means that they have less time to bake at home
  • 46% admit they would bake more if it created less mess

With this in mind Anchor came up with Anchor Squeezy. Which is their famous Anchor Butter in liquid form.

How many recipes do you see which requires melted butter? Where you have to somehow measure out half a cup of so of butter to melt. Or when greasing your cake tins.

I have not yet had chance to venture into my kitchen to do any baking. But I have used the Squeezy Butter in my cooking. Where the use of Squeezy Butter just goes on

  • Sautéing – Squeeze the butter into a hot pan to sauté vegetables, fish, or meats.
  • On Hot Vegetables – After cooking vegetables, squeeze a bit of butter over them for added flavour.
  • Finishing Touch: Use it to finish a dish like a steak or grilled vegetables by squeezing a small amount on top just before serving.

Anchor Squeezy Butter is great for portion control for those who have to watch their butter intake. It is easily stored in your fridge and ready to use straight away.

I was sent a recipe to try, but have not had a chance to get out for the ingredients yet. If you want to know what to make first I have shared the recipe below. I will be making this hopefully at the weekend and will add to this post the results.

OGRES SWAMP PIES RECIPE

Ingredients

100g Anchor Squeezy
20 Oreos – with centre removed and crushed
200g Chocolate Brownies – roughly crumbled
500g Vanilla Custard
75g Dark Chocolate
3 Gelatine Sheets or 1 Sachet
Optional Ingredients to decorate
Anchor squirt Cream
Dark Chocolate – grated

How to make a chocolate mud pie

  1. In a bowl, mix your melted Anchor butter with the crushed oreos.
  2. Pop 12 cupcake cases in a muffin tray. Divide the mixture between the cases and use the back of a spoon to push the ‘soil’ down flat. For the second chocolate layer, divide the crumbled brownie between the cupcake cases and again push down.
  3. Heat the custard in a pan, add your dark chocolate and stir until melted, creating pure chocolate heaven! Whiz off the heat and pop to one side.
  4. If using gelatine sheets, pop them into cold water for five mins, then remove and give a good old squeeze, then stir through the custard. If using a sachet, dissolve in 8 tsp hot water before adding to the custard.
  5. Divide the mixture between your cupcake cases and pop in the fridge for a few hours to set. Squirt some Anchor magic on top and let the chocolate sprinkles rain all over those mud pies!

Anchor Squeezy is available to buy in Tesco and other major retailers by the end of September, RRP £3.35 for 500ml.

  1. I am loving Anchor Squeezy. It doesn’t taste exactly like butter but it is near enough and I am very happy with it. If you put it on someone’s vegetable, for example, without telling them, I don’t think they would notice the difference. When I cook salmon in the microwave, I steam it in a microwave steam bag on top of my vegetables when they are about half way through their cooking time. I now don’t have to carefully portion out the hard knobs of butter to put in the bag, in which I also put a squeeze of lemon juice, and it works beautifully. Also, I think I am using less than I did when using the hard stuff, so good results all round.

  2. I’m not sure why its called squeezy ‘ butter’ – its only 8% butter !
Doesn’t taste of butter at all.

  3. Now this is an invention I wish had happened years ago! Why did we not think of this before. This would save a lot of mess and grease. I love it.

  4. Anchor Squeezy looks good, if another company did it, I have never liked the taste of Anchor and as a child begged my mother to buy something else but she would not and forced make to eat it. Come on Country L:ife, you could do this!

  5. What an interesting new product – and incredibly convenient. I wonder if it is similar to Ghee?

I would make a lot of use of it over my steamed veggies.
