Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 67

As you are aware by now Tuesday is the day for my Life In A Lockdown Linky post.

This is a linky where myself and other bloggers have been posting every week since lockdown first began.  Answering set questions of how we found the past week.

It is lovely looking back on how different things were and how we all adapted to lockdown life, and then slowly coming out of lockdown.

This past week has been a mix of emotions, from the football to lockdown easing.

If you want to take part in the linky the questions are

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?
4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)
6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?
7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?
8) Anything else you would like to mention?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Strangely I am quite calm and relaxed at the moment.  I am still looking at how our GP surgery has been this past month and more.  As so many people are experiencing the same, so am looking at how best to approach this and see if we can make this change.  My main concern is that unlike C and many others this could happen to someone with serious consequences which just is not right.

In everything else, I am doing ok

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

I finally had my broken tooth removed last Friday and now supporting dentures, which everyone assures me looks great.  I am still very sore where the extraction happened, and it was very traumatic in that she had to keep breaking parts and the noise was horrible.  Sadly, she could not get to the root as it would have caused me a lot of stress.  I am back on Friday to discuss moving forward and whether to leave it there or arrange surgery to have it removed.  Nothing is ever easy for me.

Yesterday, I have a lovely afternoon and evening with our very close friends who we have not seen since lockdown eased last summer, 11 months we worked it out to be.  While the men went for a beer, we had a wonder around B&M, I do love that shop. Then had a lovely relaxed meal before coming home.  It was lovely to be back doing something we used to just do and take for granted.

I have also been chatting with the college that C hopes to start this year, so am hoping all goes through ok and she can start to live normally again.

3) What is your favourite post of the past 7 days (it could be yours or someone else’s)?

I think it is my celebratory post from last week when StressedMum hit 6 years.  I started my blog for so many different reasons and wrote about how I started my blog, to how it changed.

4) Do you have any plans for lockdown easing?

We have arranged to see our friends again next month

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? (Especially if from a small business.)

I honestly can not think, although I have found a new mouthwash that has oak bark extract that is meant to be good for infections of the gum.  As I can not use salt water I thought I would try this for helping my gum heal from the extraction.

6) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

My Mum she has been my rock

7) What would you like the future to know about life during a pandemic?

Never take life for granted, be grateful for the little things

8) Anything else you would like to mention?

Keep on going, take one day at a time and we will get through this

Thank you to

I am glad you are feeling a bit calmer this week – I definitely think it is worth looking into taking things further with your surgery but it must help knowing you are now getting some help in some way.

It is not just my surgery, it seems very common all over the place, which is wrong. I do feel a lot better that she is now getting some help

It’s a shame that they couldn’t get the root but I am glad you finally managed to get the tooth removed and managed to see some friends.

*shudders* oh the thought about your tooth, I’m just glad that part is over although there’s more to come but at least you’ve got the temp dentures. I bet it’ll be nice to meet up with your friends next month, some sense of normality.

It was the worst thing only due to the noise and discomfort after, but so glad it is done. It is lovely getting back to normal

I hate the dentist so definitely feel for you with that ! , getting an appointment of any sort seems to be absolutely impossible at the Monte!

I am usually ok with the dentist, it is the opticians that I hate. It does seem like an impossibility with getting appointments these days

I hope you can get your tooth sorted. If you can, get a referral to the dental department at your local hospital. They will be able to give you a nerve block to have the root removed, it’s something they do for impacted wisdom teeth, and it’s much more effective than novocaine. You won’t feel a thing.

It isn’t fun but this was a front tooth so not one you could leave, I do feel so much better for it now
