Life In A Lockdown Linky – Week 44

Can you believe that somehow we have made it through another week, and reached Tuesday, which means it is time for my Life In A Lockdown Linky – week 44.

I have no idea how a week can go so fast, when you are stuck home in lockdown.  Somehow the weeks are speading by.  If you are interested in joining in the linky the questions are below.

The questions

1) How are you feeling/coping?
2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?
3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?
4) If you could remind yourself something about this time in years to come what would it be?
5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.
6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?
7) What is something your readers might not know about you?
8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

1) How are you feeling/coping?

Somehow, I am managing to cope somehow even after the nightmare week of last week. I seem to somehow still be in pain in the areas my biopsies were taken from, never had this previously so no idea why.  Also still waiting on the results which I am hating.

I also mentioned about the panel meeting for C’s EHCP, I finally had my phone call later afternoon.  They decided C does not need an EHCP. Fuming is an understatement for how I am feeling, they pulled out of the appeal which I now feel was stalling tactics.  I have had copies of the evidence, some of which is a complete joke.  I also pointed out certain sections that they just ignored.  Am currently waiting on the panel notes, which I have chased for again.  They are going to arrange a multi agency meeting which this time I can be part of.  I have also decided to document the process in blog posts, as sadly this is something many go through, and if I can let someone know they are not alone, or others have been through it, it can give them hope.

2) What have you been up to over the past 7 days?

I have been so wound up with C’s EHCP, it has floored me, but also put me in such a rage that it is consuming me so much.  It is so unfair and this is what hurts

3) What do you think the coming weeks and months might hold for you (or the world)?

I have no idea, but I think we will be carrying on living as we are for long time now

5) What have you bought this week that others might like? Especially if from a small business.

We had a cherry tree in our garden, it was beautiful when they cherry blossom was in full bloom.  Sadly, it died and we took the decision to have it taken out.  I made a post in a local Facebook group and had a few people contact.  The firm we chose, was a new business just starting out.  They did an amazing job, even in the rain.

We also had to buy a new oven as ours was not working properly, you do not realise how hard it is to just cook using the hob.  It was delivered on Sunday and ended up being delivered late afternoon.  So for the first time we ordered a takeaway Sunday lunch, it was amazing.

6) What is a unique (or not) technique you have used to get you through this time?

Laughter, if you do not laugh at things it will eat you up and bring you down

7) What is something your readers might not know about you?

I have never broken a bone, I am so clumsy that I have no idea why this has never happened.

8) What have you been grateful for over the past 7 days?

Coffee and technology

Thank you to

  1. Oh no! That is rotten news about C’s EHCP. Good on you for sharing the process in blog posts. I am sure they will help plenty of people. x

    1. Thank you, just going on a parents group I am on shows we are not alone. It is just so unfair that something they should automatically get isn’t the case

  2. Try and stay focused lovely and don’t let the rage eat you up, as hard as it might be , it definitely does take over . Sending my love

    1. I have let rage eat me up before, I am staying focused although am very angry I will stay focused and fight this to the end

  3. Cherry trees are my fav – absolutely stunning to look at. It’s totally understandable after last week you’re still feeling the after affects.

    1. I am really going to miss the cherry blossom and it looks so empty now it is gone, but branches were starting to drop and it had to go.

  4. I agree that we’ll probably be living this way for some time to come now; it’s difficult to envisage in end in sight. I feel like I’m being pessimistic but all along, I’ve always said I don’t think COVID-19 will ever go away. I think it’s part of life now and we have to learn to deal with it and develop new hobbies and interests that are more sustainable for us given the world we now live in.

    1. I agree and think it is here to stay now, I do think it will eventually level off and not be as life threatening and we will be able to have some sort of normality

  5. I hope C’s EHCP gets sorted soon as these must be trying times for you and your family. Also, I know what you mean about cooking without an oven.

  6. Oh no can you get checked out about you biopsy areas? I’m so sorry things didn’t go well with the EHCP, do you have a next step?

    1. I am just waiting on the results to come through for the biopsies. Yes there is a next step and I am going for it this is so unfair on C and thousands of others who go through this
