Happy New Year to you all, I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. Are you ready for what 2023 will bring to you.
I took some time out, and did not touch my laptop, apart from posting a couple of posts over the past couple of weeks. I even said to C last night, I will have to remember it is back to normal today. Having the time out has given me time, to reflect and realise a few things. I know there will be some changes this year, that I need to do.

Christmas

The run up to Christmas was busy preparing and making sure we had everything we needed. The Friday before Christmas, early in the morning, C text me to ask if I was awake. Knowing she was awake as I had heard her get up. I replied yes and she said she didn’t feel well.
As, she had messaged me, I went to see her and she looked ill, she said she had a sore throat and headache and felt rough. I took her temperature, which was very high for her. I sat with her a bit, then had to get up and do some work. Mid morning her temperature had gone up and she was having heart palpitations. She asked if I could get a her a Dr appointment (which she never does usually). Our GP has an online form, which I submitted asking for some advice. I had a reply with an appointment that afternoon.
Seeing our Dr
Our GP was lovely and she checked her over and her temperature was still spiking. She monitored her heart rate, which she did 4 times to make sure. Her heart rate was fast. We were told to give paracetamol, drink plenty and rest. But if it had not decreased in an hour or two to go to A&E.
We stopped off at our local shop and I got her stocked up with cold drinks. Luckily, her temperature started to come down and we avoided A&E.
Christmas Eve
As C was a lot better, but still feeling ill, I made our traditional sausage rolls on my own. Once everything that had to be done that day was done. We had arrange to see my best friend from school, for a Christmas drink. I asked C if she wanted to come or stay at home. Considering just how ill she was the day before. She said she felt ok to come with us.
Christmas Day
Now C is older, we no longer have the early mornings of getting up. It was lovely having a relaxing coffee in bed and enjoying the peace. C loved all her presents, and the one I had been winding her up saying I was so excited was worth it. Her face said it all.

She loves bubble tea, and I got her this set to make her own at home. She loves it, and now wants to try different flavours.
New Year

My husband has always loved New Years Eve. He met up with his mates last week for a Christmas drink. This New Years Eve, we decided to go out and celebrate just the two of us. We booked a meal out and planned to see the New Year in, with a glass of bubbly in a party atmosphere.
The only time we could book a table was 10.30. Normally, we would say no, but as it was New Years Eve, we decided to go with it. I was planning all day about how to eat, so I would not be hungry, but not eaten too much to not enjoy our meal.
Everyone had gone out and it was just me and my husband at home. I enjoyed getting ready slowly, while we just sat chatting and laughing. Somehow, we looked at the time and it had gone from 8pm to 10.20 and there was no way we would get there in time. So we ended up sitting in having cheese and biscuits. Although, it was not the night we had planned, we both enjoyed it.
2023
Here we are in 2023, a fresh new sheet to make this year a great year. It is my husbands birthday in two weeks. We are planning on a few days away to celebrate. We also have plans to meet up with friends.
We are also planning a couple of concerts hopefully, to see Muse with C, as we all like their music. My husband has also agreed to hopefully seeing Duran Duran, as I loved them when I was younger. We are also planning on going to my first festival.
I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year, and that this year is a great one for you all.

I know I will probably read this on another post but I hope you manage to organise a lovely birthday for your husband.

That’s such a shame that you missed your new Year late dinner, but I do think staying in is so much more relaxed. Hope you had a lovely well deserved break x
It was a shame, but I think as the booking was so late, we were half ready and then it was just sitting around waiting. We did have a lovely evening though.

Happy New Year to you all, it did start with a bit of a shock with C being ill but she bounced back quickly. She loves the bubble tea and I have just ordered another set in a different flavour for her.
I love that you took some time away from work and social media to decompress. I did that, too, and I’m feeling so recharged.
I do feel better for it, and did enjoy not being tied to my laptop
That bubble tea set looks amazing. I feel like my 2023 is going to be better if I get one of those.
