Finding The Right Wedding Venue: 4 Things That Should Be On Your Checklist

Congratulations if you have recently got engaged! Getting engaged is one of the most exciting things, but once you’ve said ‘yes’ there comes lots of planning and there are lots of decisions to be made, including finding your perfect wedding venue. There are so many options when it comes to wedding venues and the type of day you want to have will impact on the type of venue that you choose. We have put together five things that should be on your checklist when looking for your dream venue. When you are searching for a venue you will need to take into account not only your budget, but also look at the location of the venue, how good travel links are and if there is plenty of accommodation either at the venue or nearby.

Venue location

The first thing on your checklist is the location. You will need to think about the theme and style of wedding that you want to have on your day when you are thinking about the location. If you want to get married in a barn then you will probably be looking at more of a rural location. If you want a blank canvas venue such as an industrial space then you will probably be looking at more of a city location.

Venue facilities

If you are looking for a venue that is family friendly you will want to see what facilities that they have for children there. For example, are there outside playing areas that children can play at while the adults are enjoying their reception drinks. A venue with outside space would be good so that you can have games and activities set up outside for people to enjoy. It might also be a good idea to consider the facilities that you want at your wedding venue, such as spa facilities for example, as this might be something nice for the bride and bridesmaids to do the night prior to the wedding.

Accommodation

Another thing that is really important is the accommodation that is available at your venue. It’s a good idea to choose a venue that has accommodation either on site, or is close to a hotel or somewhere that people can stay. At the end of the day, people won’t want to be travelling too far so it’s always good to choose a venue that has accommodation either on site or close by. This will depend on how many guests you have attending your wedding and also how many of these that you will want to have staying at your venue.

Budget

This is one of the most important things to consider when looking for your dream venue, and that is to make sure that it is within your budget. Although you might fall in love with somewhere you don’t want to spend all of your budget on the venue, when there are so many things that you will need to spend on.

These are all great suggestions. We had the reception at a hotel. There were grounds for people to walk through and we had a room there for the night which was lovely.

We are both on second marriages so was a much smaller wedding but a huge party though for us. Finding the right venue is so important as it could make or ruin your day
