These weeks are moving way to fast for me. Although we have 3 long weekends to look forward to in May. As we have the Kings Coronation to look forward to as well. So with no time to waste, here is my weekly round up post of diary of a menopausal mum – 26/04/2023.

Suffering

Over the past week, I have been feeling ill, and it hit me worse Last Friday and Saturday. Which resulted in me not getting up which is not like me. On Sunday, I thought I would get up and about in between sleeping. I fancied a fried egg sandwich so was standing cooking the egg. When all of a sudden my back went.
I am still in agony with it, and no idea how cooking an egg could result in a bad back. Keep your fingers crossed that it will be better by Saturday, as we are out with friends for belated birthday celebrations.

Coronation Celebrations
I am working on the best ways to celebrate the Kings Coronation. So keep checking back to see my ultimate ideas to make your celebrations great.
What I am Loving
Storage

Storage is the key to having a house that is clutter free. One thing I have found useful through out my home are wicker storage baskets. I have larger ones for storing throws all the way to smaller ones that have make up bits. They can be stored away or be out on display.
Innotek have a lovely range of wicker storage options including this gorgeous purple coloured option. They also have these in other colours. These are perfect for keeping things tidy since our declutter.
TheraTears

One thing many of us suffer at some time in our lives is tired and irritated eyes. I know I do, as does C who I get drops from the Opticians for this. Also my Mum uses eye drops following an eye operation a short while ago.
I was sent a range of TheraTears who have a range of eye drops that cover all types of irritations,
including –
- Screen Eyes – specially formulated for reducing eye strain, relieving eye irritation, and refreshing and hydrating dry, red or irritated eyes caused by eye dryness and extended screen use.
- Overnight Restore 5 in 1– Formulated with Cross-Linked Hyaluronic Acid to provide immediate comfort and long-lasting relief, that restores your eyes’ surface through the night. The patented technology of Cross-Linked Hyaluronic Acid provides a longer-lasting lubricating and hydrating action compared to regular Hyaluronic Acid. This increases the soothing, protecting and repairing of your eyes overnight.
- TheraTears Dry or Tired 50+ 5 in 1 – Specially formulated, with the patented technology of cross-linked hyaluronic acid and distilled waters of chamomile and mallow to reduce eye strain, restore, and provide instant and long-lasting relief to mature dry or tired eyes. The distilled waters of chamomile and mallow are known for their refreshing and calming properties, ideal for mature dry or tired eyes. These preservative free eye drops are also particularly recommended for restoring and improving tear film stability in mature eyes, in case of dry eye disease. They are also contact lens friendly.
- TheraTears Dry or Tired 5 in 1 – Formulated for refreshing, protecting and hydrating dry, tired and irritated eyes, alleviating symptoms caused by eye dryness and environmental eye stress.
As I mentioned above, we do use eye drops. Being 50+ I do suffer with dry and itchy eyes, so was intrigued to see how the 50+ worked or if they would feel different to other eye drops. I have felt they are less irritated which is great. C has tried the Screen Eyes as has been studying for upcoming exams. If you suffer with irritated eyes I would recommend these.
Are you looking forward to the bank holiday weekend?

thera tears is something I’ve never tried – does sound like something I’d benefit from
My eyes do suffer and they have really helped
Hope you are feeling better now that you have rested!
Oh wow I hope you have a much less painful week this week! Those eye drops sound really useful. I feel like everyone has dry eyes at the start of summer.

You can never have enough storage boxes and options
We’ll be moving to our new rented apartment during the King’s Coronation time, so won’t be able to enjoy the long weekend, lol! Also, those storage boxes look great, will check them out 😍. I hope you are feeling better now 🙂
Good luck with the move, the storage boxes are lovely
It’s not always easy to talk about these types of topics, but your post provides a great resource for other women who may be going through similar experiences.
I do not always talk about menopause, it is just a weekly round up post
I do hope you’re feeling better now! I’m looking forward to the coronation ceremony too…can’t wait to see some of your ideas!
We are looking forward to the coronation as well
I thoroughly enjoyed reading your recent blog post about your experiences as a menopausal mum. Your writing style is engaging and relatable, and I appreciate your willingness to share both the ups and downs of this phase of life. Looking forward to reading more from you!
Thank you
I am so sorry you’ve been feeling sick, I hope your shoulder is getting better. I’ve dislocated mine a few years ago and it still hurts!
Its my back more, not sure if it is to do with just me or the whiplash from last year
Wait, I’m 50+. Are you telling me more changes are coming, such as dry eyes, lol. So many things….
Sorry but I have noticed this recently, more so when run down or tired
Sorry you are in pain – it is the worst thing. I didn’t realise the coronation was now in May!
Hopefully it wiill get better soon. Yes it is next weekend so not far away now
The eye drops sound nice! I hope your back feels better soon, maybe you can get a gel mat for the kitchen? I know they help a lot of people for when you need to stand for a long period.
The eye drops have helped me with my eyes. My back is still hurting, I really wasn’t standing very long so no idea why it went
Oh no! I hope you are feeling better soon.
I do love a wicker basket for storage. x
Thank you, I am getting fed up with it now as not getting any easier. I do love wicker baskets
Oh I do hope your back is better! My shoulder was killing me last week and I actually went and laid in bed. Something I never would have done – but we have to just stop and allow ourselves the time to rest. I’m glad you did the same. Those eye drops sound really good too!
I hope you shoulder is better now, no idea what I have done to my back or whether it is from the car accident last year. I just wish it would stop hurting so much
