Crafts To Do With The Kids In October

Day 5 of Blogtober 2024 and today I have gone off topic again. With Autumn and the colder weather it means having more time indoors than we have been having during the Summer. Today I am looking at crafts to do with the kids in October.

Pumpkin Painting/Decorating

Do something different with pumpkins this year, instead of pumpkin carving. Try pumpkin decorating instead as even the youngest members of the family can join in.

What you will need

Mini Pumpkins
Acrylic Paints
Googly Eyes
Glitter
Markers
Stickers

Let the kids get created and make the spookiest, funniest pumpkins this year.

2. Paper Plate Crafts

Paper plates can be so much fun and there is so much you can do with a paper plate. From making paper plates spider webs. To making the spiders that made the spider webs, or painting witches faces or pumpkin faces.

What you will need

Paper Plates
Glue
Scissors
White Wool
Paints and Paintbrushes

Leaf Rubbing Art

This is a two parter really, first letting of some steam on an Autumn walk. Maybe go to the woods and look for the Gruffalo while looking for leaves to collect and bring home. Then home to make some fun creative art with the leaves.

What you will need

Freshly Fallen Leaves
Crayons
Paper

Pine Cone Spiders

What arts and crafts do you like to do for Halloween. These will create lots of fun, plus you will have ready made Halloween decorations.

  1. I like the sound of pumpkin painting! I used to hate digging the insides out multiple times so that everyone had one to decorate!
