One thing I am never without is a lip balm. I have them in my bag when I am out and all over the house. Along with my homemade gifts this year. C and I decided to try making lip balms. If you are looking to make some homemade gifts. I am sharing How To Make Homemade Lip Balms.

This is so easy to make, and perfect for adding to homemade hampers or little stocking fillers.
Table of Contents
Ingredients
3 tbs Beeswax Pellets
2 tbs Shea Butter
1/4 cup coconut oil
15 drops of essential oil of your preference – we chose vanilla
How To Make
- Add all the ingredients (apart from the essential oil) to a microwavable jug
- Heat until all has melted gently
- Add your essential oil of choice
- Pour into containers – I got these from Amazon
- Leave to set
We have made two batches
- First using original recipe – we found this quite hard and feel this would be better for lipstick style containers. Although if you warm your finger first it works well.
- Second batch – we added a little more coconut oil and it softened it to a more manageable balm that was easier to apply
Like with anything, these are just base for the product. You can play around to make them the consistency that you prefer.
The good thing about making your own homemade beauty products. Is that you have the ingredients to make them as you need them. You also know what you are adding and putting on your skin.
I was also going to have a go at making my own candles. Time just got away with us. We will be trying them at some stage in the future.
In case you missed my other homemade gift ideas
When I was younger I used to make my own truffles. Maybe I will try to recreate these at some stage.

Like you and others, I go through lots of lip products!
I used to dabble in making my own but, somehow, have let that slip. It’s good to make your own as it’s sobering reading what low-cost manufacturers add to their skincare ingredient lists.
