You will have seen that C and I have been trying to up our gifting game with homemade gifts this year. I shared my homemade fudge recipe yesterday. Today, I am sharing another gift idea with How To Make Homemade Body Butter.

One of my favourite beauty items I always have is body butter. There is nothing nicer after a nice bath or shower to massage in some body butter. My mum loves body butter as does C. So we thought we would give it a try to make our own.
There are so many recipes for body butter if you google. We chose to do Stacey Solomons recipe.
Table of Contents
Ingredients
110g Shea Butter
110g Coconut Oil
essential oils – we used vanilla and jasmine
How To Make
- Add the Shea Butter and Coconut Oil to a pan and gently melt
- Once melted leave to cool. I cool the pan in cold water (making sure that the water does not go in the pan). Once the pan is cold pop in the fridge to set.
- Once set remove the solid mix to a bowl and beat with an electric whisk. This is where it starts to come together. Keep whisking until you have a thick smooth cream.
- Add your essential oils as required. Some are stronger than others so keep adding until you have the fragrance you are wanting.
- Transfer to jars – these are the jars I used
I got my ingredients from Amazon
The Final Results
We all loved the body butter, but agreed it was quite oily. This was due to the coconut oil, which is great at absorbing into the skin. So we decided this one is better for after a bath or shower to lock in moisture.
We decided to make a second batch that C chose Jasmine and Lavender and they went well together. We decreased the amount of coconut oil to half and it was much creamier. Which is better for anytime during the day
It is all about playing around to get the consistency to your preference.
This is so quick and easy to make and such a lovely gift idea.
What homemade gifts have you made?

We loved making our own as we all use body butters daily, I do think you need to play around with measures as the first batch was quite oily but perfect for after a bath or shower to lock in the moisture
