I know I have been very quiet this week, everything just seems to be too much at the moment. So instead I have been working on the behind scenes of StressedMum. Doing boring jobs that meant I did not really need to think too much. With that said as we are at Wednesday again it is time for my Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 17/09/2025.

My Week
Grief
I have to start here as it has been very much present this week. I am struggling with the month of September. Later this month would have been our 23rd Wedding Anniversary and I keep going back to the conversations the evening before my husband died on what we were planning on doing.
Yesterday, C was getting ready for college, she starts later on Tuesday and she was putting her ring she got for her 21st birthday on that her dad had chosen. I jokingly said don’t lose it and went downstairs. She came down 10 minutes later slamming doors and not happy. We got in the car and her heat broke. She couldn’t find the ring. I promised her I would look for it, asked if she was ok to go in, she said she was.
We got to college and she said she couldn’t face going in. Now in the whole 7 months since losing her dad she has barely cried. Due to one of her brothers (who has cried a lot) said you can’t sit there moping and she stopped the tears.
The Hunt
I literally tore her bedroom apart, moved everything and even looked in the birds cages. I told C I was going to have a break and come back with fresh eyes. Saying, if it hasn’t turned up by Christmas I would get her another one.
I still could not find it and honestly, seeing the upset in her eyes. I took off my husbands wedding ring that I have also been wearing and gave it to her. Then I said let me look in your bag and went in a pocket she said she hadn’t been in and there was her ring.
The Budgies
I mentioned last week, that Pippy was showing signs of nesting. Last week her and Louie went in another cage and C put in a nesting box. First she chucked out all the shredded paper, so I ordered some nesting material which was fine for her last time. Then she threw all that out, so C changed the nesting box to the same one she used last time. She threw the nesting stuff out again. She either sits on top of it or pokes her head over it.
She is showing signs so C has literally just messaged me to say she is going to try to steam her as the egg may be stuck. I bet you are all jealous of life in my household
Other News
C is now in the final year of her course in college. She could stay on and do a degree level but she has decided she wants to go to University. We now have 5 university trips from next month to the end of November to visit. I am going to be shattered but after all she has been through I am so happy for her moving forward.
Christmas
Not only am I working hard on my Christmas Gift Guides. I have also started my Christmas shopping.
I am also hounding my daughter and my grand daughters about their birthdays which are all in November.
I am trying to be more organised this year, as I am dreading Christmas and New Year and want to have everything sorted.

The birth of my new grand-daughter.
We got a new car to replace our older one which was giving us so many (costly) problems.
September highlight for me was getting a nice new job.
My September highlight was a friends bachelor party weekend which was a lot of fun. I also caught up with people I hadn’t seen in a long time.
Time in the garden before the temperature drops!
My son started Year 3 and learned to do his own tie. He has also started reading at home more, which is great as we have struggled to get him interested in reading by himself before.
Having my first pregnancy scan ever, it was so magical and can’t wait to be a mum!
My September highlight was returning to choir after the summer break.
my twin grandaughters were born safe and healthy this september
Watching the England women’s team win the rugby World Cup!
my September highlight was visiting family abroad who I haven’t seen in a long time.
Booking our whale watching tour for when we go to Norway next month
Seeing some great live music! September was a good month for shows near me.
Spending a lovely break in Weymouth and swimming in the sea.
My birthday was in September so that was probably my favourite part of the month

My September high point was our Granddaughter settling well into a new college.
First time in a long time that no problems were found at a dentist check up – a rarity for me these days!
My daughter turned 15! They grow so fast, can’t believe she has started yr 10!
My daughter started a PhD course
it was my beautiful sisters birthday. We spent the day together in the sunshine and went out for a lovely meal and drinks.

my september highlight has been that my husband whos been waiting for two important appointments has got a date for them so thats a win
My September highlight was having a nice break off work to enjoy the good weather and have some day trips.
I started a new job and am loving it!

I spent a nice day out with my mum and sister, and it involved tea and cake!
I’m so glad you found the ring! I misplaced a ring that had a lot of sentimental value and was really upset, and then it turned up in a bag I hadn’t used in years! My September highlight has been planning and booking a Christmas market trip to take my mum on in December. I can’t wait!

Meeting up with my cousin that I had not seen for over 50 years.
My 13 year old daughter has been trying really hard to get into a football ETC training programme. She’d tried out a few times and never been selected but she finally got into one in September at Burnley.
Completing the metric half marathon in my home town. Did it in just under an hour and a half.

my september highlight has been a few things firstly its my birthday on the 8th and my besties on the 12th but also my daughter got engaged so im soo excited onb heping her pllan her weddnig

I had a really fun, romantic holiday with my partner in Denmark 🙂
So glad you found the ring. I had something similar when my dad died. He had bought me a pair of sapphire and diamond earrings, I went to put them in and couldn’t find them, I looked everywhere. Next day I decided to do some ironing, got everything set up, took the first item out and there where my earrings …. I don’t know how they got there but ever so thankful I found them.
Isn’t it strange things turn up in the most unexpected places. I am glad you found them

no highlights in September apart from being one month closer to retirement
My September highlight was going back to work and realising my HRT is working. No more sweats!
Getting my bedroom decorated, new wardrobes and carpet fitted
Our highlight is being away last week in the Cotwolds and Bath, with glorious sunny weather.
Going to watch my granddaughter perform with her dance school at Eddington Festival, All the hard work paid off. They were amazing
My little boy starting year 1. As much as I didn’t want him to go as I loved him being home the school holidays. He’s smashed it and done me proud so far.

I do not get a choice at being busy but it is not a bad thing, the budgies are such time wasters
Hubby and I have been privileged to celebrate and enjoy our 78th birthdays in September. We are so lucky to be fit and healthy enough to enjoy long walks (6 miles max. nowadays) and cycle rides (with a little help from power assist when its very windy!) on a regular basis.
I went to Poland with a tour group. Whist in the former site of the Jewish Ghetto in Krakow we had a traditional Jewish meal along with music, it was a very emotional experience.
The recent Take That news. I didn’t see the Circus tour, so I might get another chance. Going to try for tickets.
What a relief to find the ring. Small object: enormous emotional attachment.
Good to read that C wants to go to uni. There’s so much to learn as well as the academic material.

It was a huge relief to find the ring, she wears it with her dads wedding ring now always chokes me to see it but in a nice way. It will be so amazing if C does go off to uni.

Doing up my living room to make it more cosy for the “ber” months!
Highlight must the short cruise we did even if I wasn’t feeling well for two days.
Finding the ring must have been a huge relief.
It was she was heartbroken
My highlight of September, so far, was seeing a double rainbow. I had never seen one previously.
So far it has been seeing how well my daughter is doing in Year 4 and seeing what my son is choosing for GCSE.
The kids going back to school and getting the house in some kind of order!
Still being able to wear shortsall the way through so far
My September highlight is always my birthday on the 11th!
I was just happy that the weather wasn’t awful. Mostly it’s been ok so far
I’m looking forward to seeing the leaves turn golden and enjoying country walks
Watching my rugby team win.
It was only a pre-season friendly, but we hardley ever win.

I am beyond jealous lol…To live with these cute budgies and to witness the whole nesting process is just amazing, wow, what a beautiful thing to be part of.
The birds are amazing and all have such different characters. Poor Pip has still not laid her egg and is restless but has been enjoying cuddles and head rubs
My September highlight has been seeing my son start at a high school that he seems to be enjoying (so far!)
My September highlight has been all the training courses I’ve been doing lately. I’ve been enjoying the learning process and I’m proud of my newfound knowledge, even though my brain feels a bit frazzled at times!
You do need to have quiet times and I think it is always going to feel incredibly hard when you lose a loved one. You are doing so well, sending love.
I am struggling so much more this month, this is something that I never thought I would be dealing with so soon I thought we had years
nothing too exciting, but it has been a pleasure to start putting the garden to bed after months of growing fruit and veg. It’s hard work and i’m not getting any younger.
The highlight of my September has been watching a Rugby World Cup match live.

My September highlight was my nephew’s birthday – spent a lovely day in my brother’s garden with lots of family and great food.
Getting solar panels fitted, but it has been murky ever since!

Sometimes, mindless tasks can keep your mind busy in a good way. Sounds like a really stressful time lately – glad that the ring was found!
Honestly, it would not feel right if it was not stressful at the moment. My heart sank for C but it was also welcome as she finally let the tears fall which was a long time coming
we went to see a Roman decohedron at Nottingham museum, nobody knows what it was used for…..it was very intriguing.
Enjoyed a trip to Oxford and enjoyed a bowl of Pho

If you could have seen me I looked everywhere, she said she had her bag out looking but had not been in that pocket. Her face when I found it though plus now she also has her dads wedding right which she is wearing

September has been a tricky month as my mum fell and broke her shoulder. Think my highlight was that she made it back out of hospital
Oh no I hope she is ok, my mother in law did that the week after my father in laws funeral and she was staying with us

My highlight has been reaching my weight loss target.
My niece has been in hospital with a burst appendix. My sister promised to get her a real Labubu which are really hard to find. The best aunty in the world managed to find one though!!
I am SO GLAD you were able to find her ring! I feel like that would have been so devastating for her to lose that.
She was heartbroken, which is why i told her I will not stop until I found it, which is why I gave her my husbands wedding ring her face was priceless and then I found the ring
