Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 11/06/2026

I am a day late as it is now Thursday, my weeks are so busy at the moment. It really is about finding the time. Even this post is being written in stages. So now to find out what has been happening with me in my weekly round up Ramblings Of A StressedMum – 11/06/2026.

My Week

This Week

Health

Dad is in his second week of radiotherapy. Honestly, it is tiring me having to drive there and back and park every day so no idea how it is affecting him. Although he does seem to be ok at the moment.

C is starting to not have the side effects from the medication. Her Consultant and secretary have been great and we have a new appointment in a couple of weeks to speak about her migraines. I do think there is one quite major thing they can do, but will wait to see what they say.

I am struggling with so much at the moment, but do think it will ease once Dad and C are ok. I did have to speak to my Dr this morning as I have a sore thumb. I had a broken nail but for some reason I seem to have got an infection and it is so painful. She has now put me on antibiotics. So hopefully this will sort itself soon, as you have no idea how much you use your thumb

Time Out

C's hair

On Tuesday, we headed over to see my daughter in law and the grandkids. Also to have our hair cut, C had wanted the blue in her hair for ages. I love her hair and love the length and how her hair just flows so lovely. I also had a much needed cut and also coloured so no more grey.

We surprised the grandkids with picking them up at school, they were both so happy to see us there. Sadly, after being home a little while the youngest was sitting having a cuddle on my lap, saying her tummy was hurting. She suddenly said I need the toilet stood up and was violently sick. She is over it now thankfully bless her.

What I Am Loving

Bonny Bite

Bonny Bite

If like me you love to snack, especially if watching tv or any other reason, let me introduce Bonny Bite. Offering a range of organic dried fruits and vegetables which are ideal for snacking or lunch boxes. The range includes

  • Dried Watermelon
  • Crunch & Puffed Apple
  • Dried Kiwi
  • Crunchy & Puffed Veg Medley

These are great to pick on, but also can be used with Greek yoghurt overnight oats all sorts of options. I will admit I was not sure on the veg medley but was pleasantly surprised.

  1. My goodness your week has been intense. Hopefully things get a little bit easier. At least the Haircut is a silver lining. I know a new look always boosts my mood.

  2. Thanks for the intro to Bonny Bite. I’ve bookmarked their home page to come back to it when the delicious introductory pack is back in stock.

A hairdressing appointment is wonderful to lift your spirits. I’ve taken a good quality Spirulina for many years and have very little grey hair (and I suspect I am very much older than you are!). I recommend it not only for hair but also as an excellent, natural source of bioavailable nutrients.

I hope your father’s treatment progresses well. Many hospitals have a free transport service for patients needing ongoing care. Have you enquired about that with the hospital or GP?

    Have a good week.

    1. I hope you enjoy the Bonny Bites as much as we have, when they come back in stock

Both of our hair needed a good cut, although C just had the ends taken off and thinned out quite a bit. I think I will give Spirulina a try as not tried this before.

Dad is doing ok, we have just had the first dose of week 3. I would worry if I did not take him, so we all head off on a family outing. C comes along as well as the dog is a nightmare if my dad is not at home.

  3. The Father’s Day gift guide is amazing wow…I looooove how thoughtful a lot of these items are. Thank you so much. This is very helpful.

  4. Being a caregiver can be very taxing on the body. Take care of you!! If you aren’t well, you can’t help others.

  5. sometimes busy is good to keep your mind from going over and over
sometimes good to stop and take stock
    hope everything goes well

  6. I love the sound of Bonny Bites! Just looked at their website and the fruity ones look delicious!

  7. I sooo understand the stress level. Right now, things have been crazy for me as well. I like your Father’s Day Guide; I’m so behind I need to get mine up. I hope you get a chance to just sit back and relax a little for we know stress is no good for the body!

    1. I do need to sit and de-stress but when I think I have got one thing sorted it is not the case and I am so close to just walking out and turning my phone off and hiding for a while

  8. Ooh. Bonnie Bite sounds perfect for me! I love snacking on and cooking with all kinds of dried fruits. You can do so much with them.

  9. I hope your thumb heals soon! I haven’t heard of Bonny Bite, I’ll have to check out their organic dried fruits!

    1. I am on second day of antibiotics and although still very sore and did not help when it hurt it earlier, it is starting to feel a little better. Bonny Bites have a lovely range
