We have made it to Wednesday again, although I am slightly out with my days as we had a bank holiday weekend. This means it is now time for my weekly round up post Rambling Of A StressedMum -28/08/2024.

Health
I mentioned last week, that I had found a lump in my breast on Tuesday evening. I was referred to the urgent breast clinic and have my appointment on Friday morning. Although, it is probably nothing serious as I was there in June for a different problem. I did have a mammogram which was all clear.
I am feeling very nervous this time though, and will be glad once my appointment is over and I know what is going on and that hopefully it is nothing.
Dad
I also mentioned last week, that my Dad had been taken into hospital, but came home last Tuesday evening. On Thursday, I got up to my Mum saying Dad had a pain in his chest again. Ambulance was called via 111 and he was taken to a different hospital. He was tested and had scans, they said his heart was fine and it is his liver. His inflammation markers were very high, and they think this is because he had lymphoma years ago, which he is in remission for. I did panic slightly thinking it had come back. He had to go back again on Friday for more tests but it seems it was settling down. We just need to keep an eye on him now.
What I Am Loving
Two things I love in life is new bedding and new towels. These two items can make me so happy, as we all know the joy of new bedding and towels.
Recently I agreed to work with Richard Haworth and review their Madison Towel Range. I received –
- A Hand Towel
- Bath Towel
- Bath Sheet
I was sent all three in the colour of white. On opening they felt soft and luxurious, but as we all know you need to wash new towels before use.
I did this on a day I knew I would be about, and it was nice enough to hang on the washing line to dry.
They came out fluffy and hotel luxurious that you get from staying away, I am not sure if it was because they were white also. As they did make me feel like I would with hotel towels.
They have all been used and washed and look brand new still. Anyone looking to renew their towels I can recommend the Madison collection. I am now looking to purchase more as I do like all towels matching and go with two different colour in towels to match my bathroom.
Education
C broke up from college in June, finishing level 2 of her animal care course. She was hoping to go onto level 3, but we had to wait for the final results to come out. Last Thursday she received her results and got a Distinction and is definitely on level 3. She has her enrolment tomorrow, and starts back at college next week.
Christmas
My Christmas Gift Guides are coming along great. I have some amazing gift ideas this year which I know you will all love.
It is hard to believe that we are talking about Christmas already, but it is less than 3 months away which will soon fly by.

My highlight of the summer was a night away to celebrate my 20th wedding anniversary.

the highlight for my this summer was getting quality time with my grandchildren
I am with you on that time with my grandchildren are my happiest
The highlight of my Summer was a mini break to Bath with my husband. It was lovely to relax and have a break away from work.

The highlight of my summer was a short stay in the lower Wye Valley. It’s such a beautiful place.
Somewhere I have not yet visited
Going camping with my family and just spending time in nature disconnected was lovely.
We went camping last year did not get the chance this year
My highlight was having a few days at Caister, staying in a caravan with my daughter and grandchildren. It was such a chilled and relaxing time

Finally making the move to Devon to start our retirement in the most amazing house just yards from the beach

My highlight was the birth of my beautiful baby daughter in June! Definitely hard to top that one x
Congratulations you will never top that until grandchildren come along. Althlough my daughter is turning 21 in November and it still seems like yesterday she was a newborn
We had a lovely day in Brighton with our daughter, beach and ice creams

My highlight was our holiday to Weymouth. We stayed in a beautiful house overlooking Sandsfoot gardens and castle. It was perfect!

A long cycle trip in the sunshine was my highlight this summer

We climbed snowdon this year! So so pleased we got to the top! Loved it

My summer highlight was our first family holiday abroad. We went to Corfu and it was amazing
I went to Corfu years ago and loved it I do love the Greek Islands
my highlight was a trip to Cornwall, I was stunned by its beauty despite the poor weather!

My daughter’s 12th birthday, we had a big family BBQ and it was so nice to get everyone together x

A holiday to Malta in July was a real highlight – amazing culture, super hot and great location!
I visited Malta many years ago and loved it

I had a great time visiting my uncle and his friends for his birthday. He’s also a trained chef, so the food was top notch!

I celebrated my 60th birthday. I had a few days in Yorkshire with hubby, 2 afternoon teas, lunch with my family, a couple of lunches with friends and a day out with a group of friends. I think I celebrated throughout the whole of August.

Might be a bit sad but the main highlight I thought of was just getting all my washing dry. Because I hate that in the winter!
That is not sad at all, that is one of the things that make me happy as well

The highlight of my summer has been having my new conservatory built and being able to spend so much time sitting out there watching the birds in the garden and spending lots of quality time with my husband.

Hope your lump proves to be nothing. I recently had a mole looked at as an “urgent referral”. Told results were 2/3 weeks. Called to be told “no, it’s 16 weeks”!

The lump was nothing serious thankfully. 16 weeks I thought results were quicker than that – hope all was ok
I think my highlight was that the summer felt so long. Usually the holidays are over in a flash but that wasn’t the case this year.
It was a long summer for us as well
The highlight has been being able to go on long family walks and spend some quality time with my children

My 19 year old grandson’s passing out parade. Fulfilling a dream he has had since nursery where he was photographed dressed in a policeman’s uniform and told visiting PC ‘When I grow up I ‘m going to be a policeman like you! ‘ Being dyslexic he has had to work so hard to get into the police force but when I asked him if it was as good as he was expecting it to be he replied ‘Nan its just so much better, I love it!’ This despite the fact he works full-time with 12 hours day/night shifts whilst studying for a degree in Professional Police Practice with the Open University
That must have been a real tear jerker seeing him fulling his dream in uniform

Our break away to York , it was our first time and I fell in love with the place .
I would love to visit York for a few days, we keep mentioning it but never been
The weather has been so amazing so we have managed to spend lots of time at the beach and it has been really fun most days.

I am glad to know your dad is back home after being briefly taken to the hospital. I recently lost my father in similar circumstances, so I know how stressful it can be. Please taker care of your parents. And thanks for sharing your regular life updates. It feels nice to know them.

I chose my wedding dress this summer so that was definitely a highlight!!
That is a huge highlight
My highlight of the summer would have to be celebrating a relatives 50th birthday in a pub garden on the hot day in which England won the penalty shootout during the Euros. Don’t drink at all so this was my first pub matchday experience and my gosh was it something else!
Sounds like a great way to celebrate, I was in the pub that day watching the football which is the only time we watched in a pub. Although I was on soft drinks as was drving
i had alovely relaxing week away to littlehampton with my daughter was nicie tio visit where i grew up
I have not been to Littlehampton for a few years and have lots of memories visiting there
Going to Edinburgh with my sister, the first time in 20 years we hav e had time together on our own

We had a weeks family holiday to Northumberland and it was fantastic, so much to do and a beautiful part of the country!

We came back from a week away in our caravan today, from Wells Next the Sea, it is lovely there and had such a lovely week, to the point where we want to move there now!!

My highlight was the trip to london with my grandson, we spent the whole day, went to Parodox museum and Chronicles of life, had dinner in a fancy restaurant and went along the river on a boat ride. It was a fabulous day out.

Our granddaughter did well in her exams and is going to Uni next week. A highlight but also quite sad because we shall all mis her!

My last mammogram was clear which I had in June, this is a new one coming up on Friday after I found a lump last week

That is amazing, I still see my old school friends around one who we do get together ocassionally another in the drs surgery recently. Thank you C was relieved we were so proud of her
