Peanut Butter and Banana Dog Treats

I haven’t done this in ages, so thought I would do another cooking video of dog treats with the help of Bear.  He is nearly 4 months old now, and was a lot more helpful than on my last video. Which you may remember he made a brief appearance.  Max decided to stay out of the way for this one as he was having a much needed rest. As Bear will not leave him alone bless him.

So after looking for recipes I came across Peanut Butter and Banana dog treat. I chose this recipe as it only uses 3 ingredients, all of which I had in.

  • porridge oats – 1 and a half cups
  • bananas – 1 large banana mashed
  • peanut butter – half a cup (make your own using one of these recommended food processors for nut butter)

You grind down your porridge oats (1 and a half cups)

mix together half a cup of smooth peanut butter and 1 large mashed banana and then add all but about a table spoon of the oats to the mixture.

Once combined and formed into a dough you use the remainer of the oats and sprinkle onto a board and then roll out your dough, cut out and then bake at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes or until starting to brown.

As you can see Bear had fun and loved the finished results which he kindly shared with Max.

The dogs loved their new treats and are also loving the other treats I have made previously. There is so many dog treat recipes on the internet now that I can see this becomming a regular feature.

I am sure the boys wont mind, they are loving being my helpers, they probably can not believe that they can get up close while I am baking.  Usually they are kept at bay.  They also love being the official tasters.

Do you make your own dog treats? If so what have you made?
