We have made it to day 31 of Blogtober 2025. I have completed the challenge this year and found it has helped me stumble through another month. So now it is time for October Reflections – What This Month Has Taught Me.
October has been a very mixed bag for me.

The Change Can Be Subtle

October to me feels like it creeps in very slowly, before it has its big finale when the clocks go back the last weekend in October.
October almost makes me slow down even if it is just slightly.
Rest Is Productive

As the days get cooler and shorter, I tend to hide away that bit more. This month, I embraced the return of Autumn and learnt to rest and relax a lot more.
I have learnt to look and listen to nature, as nature slows down during these months before Spring arrives to speed things up, so have I.
Simple Things Hold the Most Comfort

It is the simplest things that have brought me the most comfort this month. I have muted my phone from a lot of unwanted noise. I put on my cosy socks and slippers and enjoy putting my feet up. To enjoy that hot drink that brings comfort and warmth.
It is the cold but bright sunny days, where you pop on that extra layer and embrace nature at its finest.
Letting Go Makes Room for Light

As the trees shed their leaves, I have learnt to let go this month.
I have been having a lot of harassment from a family member. This has caused my grieving to halt and at times go backwards. It has been damaging me both mentally and physically.
So this month I have muted chats, not risen to drama they are wanting to create. I have taken time for myself to just let go and it really has helped.
What have you learnt during October? Has it taught you anything new?

I really don’t like October and the dark nights coming in. I have to focus on cosy and comfort
The only thing I like about the nights drawing is and that is the getting cosy at home
The idea of rest being productive was so hard for me to grasp. I really do enjoy my rest and it helps me be more productive when awake.
We all need to remember to rest as it does help us be productive throughout the day
life will be amazing again – take time especially with Christmas approaching
I have a tough few months coming up which will be very emotional and I am dreading at the same time
I totally agree that rest is productive during the cooler months. In my opinion, simple things are the best to embrace when nature slows down.
I am learning to slow down and take time out for myself
October has been filled with so many twists and turns. I’m happy you took time to rest and recharge.
I needed to take that time out
I totally agree that simple things can give you the most comfort. A bath, a yummy dinner, cosy socks, all the things that don’t seem like much but can mean a lot x
It is the simple things that can bring the most comfort
Taking time for oneself is something many of us parents think about but don’t actually do. Staying awake long enough in the evening after a busy day at work was a bit of a problem for me: get the crafting materials out or sleep? The latter usually won the day!
I’ve been reading about quantum physics in relation to manifestation. Struggling to get my head around it but will persevere.
Thank you for your Blogtober posts. Hope November is a good month for you.
Taking time out for ourselves is difficult, one thing I keep trying and not been able to do this past 9 months is read a book I seem to read the same page over and over so have put reading on the hold for now
Thoughtful reflections. “Rest is productive.” really resonated me. A beautiful reminder to be kind this month.
It is about being kind to ourselves, I keep telling myself to take a break as I really can not afford to get ill
Sorry about the harassment you’ve been getting, but glad your learning to mute and take a step back x
Muting and stepping back has helped me a lot
